I was 15 mins late cause I thought my appointment was at 1230 not 1215. They told me the tattoo artist had a 1230 and couldn't see me. Which means he booked me for a 1st time 15 min consultation. Not cool. Will be looking for someone who wants to put alittle more thought into my ideas and not 15 mins.
While I was in there they were very hectic. The line alone to get someone to help you in itself was 15 mins.
Further adding to my review, no confirmation text was ever sent to my phone. I recommend finding a location who can fit you in.

Anytime I am near Nashville, I will be back to see the Black13. These guys are awesome. The shop is bad ass, front desk friendly as hell, great vibe, and tons of collaboration with the artists. Had an appointment with Kirk George and he killed it. My brother was meticulous (ma-tick-u-lusssssss). Can not say thank you enough. They delivered 10 times over. The highlight of my trip to Nashville. Kirk, you are the man!!

Most professional and welcoming tattoo shop I've probably ever been in. No egos and nothing pretentious here, which is very refreshing for a tattoo shop. Ryan did several pieces on my arm and retouched some older ones to make them up to par with the new ones, and I couldn't be happier. The only downside is that people now stop me all the time to ask where I got my work!

The place is nice, smells really good. I was greeted by a really nice guy. No complaints there.. But overall I was bummed…. I booked my appointment a couple months in advance (I don't live in the USA) just to turn up and the artist didn't even know what he was doing. Printed out the wrong picture I had sent which worried me. Took an hour to get that sorted. He was awkward, didn't even shake my hand or anything! Then we got tattooing, all was well. A couple days later I realize I wasn't even shown a new needle, or given any prior precautions. I just assumed they used clean stuff cause it's a "professional" business.. Also, don't get script there. A word is wonky, got a couple blobs on some words, and one line of a letter isn't straight.

i got a tattoo from them last year sept 2018 and was very pleased. i live out of town and only go when i am in the area. i knew i was going to be this year again and i wanted to make an appointment. i attempted to make an appointment a month in advance and they declined saying only in person walk ins accepted. they said there should be available space for when i was in town. just left with then saying they are all booked up for the day. it’s a great shop but that’s they last time i go out of my way only to be turned down

I had such a great experience at Black 13. It was my first tattoo and the girls at the counter and Nathan Fisher really helped me to realize my vision. Its a very busy shop so I recommend planning ahead an getting an appointment if you are going to be in Nashville. #nathanfisher #beetattoo

Jay is the ONLY artist who I will let tattoo me. Perfect drawings and really listens to what you want. I’ve had photographs tattooed perfectly by him.
Kirk tattooed right beside Jay and always nice and acknowledged my existence unlike most other artists in the shop.
Giving shop 3 stars because Jay and Kirk are no longer here. I’m sure shop is still good, but I’ll never know.
I’m sure you can find them online though. Jay quarles and Kirk George.
Island Tattoo is my new place to go!
