I had a great experience here! Jess was very kind and patient with making the design of the two tattoos I had wanted. These were special to me since I will be moving out of the country soon and it will be the last time I get a tattoo in the states for a while, and she executed them perfectly! I referred my partner over to her as well and I am excited to see what she works up for him.

Would not get a tattoo here. I am pretty covered in ink. I have about 50 tats including quote and script tattoos. I was SO nice. I went in and just asked for a price range on a quote I wanted on my neck/ back. When she seemed reluctant, I moved on, stating Iβd just reconsider and asked if they had openings. I was willing to switch over to getting something else for the day. (Sure, in my mind, I was thinking, Iβll just go to a better artist, but I didnβt say it to her.)
She didn't stop! Instead I got a lecture (it was a blond woman with braids and in a hat- donβt think it was the owner so maybe this wasnβt a reflection of this shop?) about how the tattoo will expand. I literally said how I understood that and I was even willing to go bigger. She still argued and lectured me. As she continued to patronize me, I pointed out that I have script tattoos that are like 10 years old (she kept barking at me that in 5 years a quote would look bad) and I still love them.
She then pointed to and insulted my existing tattoos! I literally had to say βwell, I love my tattoos and Iβm going to goβ to get away from her.
(What the heck man, I just wanted a tattoo (and I am not new to tattoos at all), and you choose to insult my body!!! What a horrible experience you just dished out.)

Asked for a spine tattoo and he put it an inch to the right. When I told him itβs not on my spine he replied saying βI wasnβt proportionalβ ??? What? I wanted a spine tattoo not a back tattoo. Very uncool.
The drawing was good and he took the idea from my head and made it real but very unpleased with placement and nonchalant of messing up placement. Telling me Iβm unporportional? I donβt care how much Iβm not proportional I wanted it on my spine.

I have wanted to get this tattoo since I was 16, and thanks to Jess I finally have it! The Giving Tree has been so special to me ever since I was little and now she's a part of me forever <3 Jess was very patient and kind from the moment I first reached out to her asking her to design my tattoo, and I can't thank her enough. If you're looking to get a tattoo in Austin, I highly recommend Gully Cat!

Skyler did a great job! Took my different ideas of what I wanted, combined it in a drawing that fit just what I was looking for! Couldn't be happier. Great first tattoo experience

I went and called 5 shops before coming to gully cat. artist was swift but patient and careful with placement, art work, and listening to my idea. managed to stencil, tat, and chat with me in under an hour with zero mistakes in my opinion. def coming back and soon.

This is the Austin tattoo shop you are looking for. Real artists here that you can trust with your skin. Skyler is my guy at the shop. Every time he does a design for me, Iβm always shocked at the quality. Also, as an added plus, everyone here is nice.

Jess did my first tattoo yesterday and she was amazing. She was professional, kind and made sure I was comfortable from start to finish. I told her my vision and she executed it exactly. The shop was clean and comfy as well. Will 100% be back. Thank you Jess!
