Moon Tattoo

I had my very first tattoo done here and it was a great experience! I booked with David and gave him a very brief description of what tattoo I wanted. The day of my appointment he showed me the drawing and it was better than what I had pictured in my head.
The process took a couple hours and it looked phenomenal after the shading was done.
I’d love to come back here for my next one!

There are so many good things to say about the studio and the staff at Moon Tattoo. Right off the bat, the space is clean and everyone is very safety aware during some of the worst times of covid in Austin. I had just recently gone to another tattoo shop in the area and it was as if masks or precautions for transmission didn't exist at all. But I felt so safe the entire time I was inside Moon Tattoo studio. There are also lovely displays of art and plants throughout the space, which I found very relaxing.

This studio features many non-binary and queer artists which has been invaluable to me and my other queer friends who want high quality tattoos. It gets so annoying to not even be asked my pronouns in alt spaces that should be aware of that. I can look like a total goblin and still be called ma'am in other places. But this is not the case at Moon Tattoo. I was held and treated with respect and kindness in a space surrounded by those of my community.

You can also tell that these artist really like each other. It's funny how different it feels to be in a studio that is obviously well managed and takes care of it's artists. Everyone was friendly, happy and smiled at me when I walked in the door. What a breath of fresh air during pandemic times.

Finally, the artists here are all very top-notch. They largely do black work but there's still quite a bit of variety amongst all of them- from the very cute to the dark and spooky. Be aware some artists there you'll be waiting on for months, because their work is so popular. Others will be able to get you in pretty quickly. I got a custom piece from Tina, one of the owners of the shop. Tina was very kind and respectful and checked in on my comfort levels multiple times. And her work: detailed and thorough. Most of my tattoos are symmetrical and therefore need to be carefully placed so they are balanced on my body. I have never had any artist take the necessary time to place my stencil before Tina. She took the time to make sure my tattoo placement was just right, which I really appreciate considering it's on my sternum for the rest of my life. Thank you again, Tina and Moon Tattoo. I may never get a tattoo anywhere else again.

This place was really great! I got a tattoo by Tina Poe. She was on time, very sweet, patient, and professional. My leg kept twitching and I was in a lot of pain as it was a new area of my body that was being tattooed. She was very kind when I needed breaks or to stand up. She made the experience really great. The shop was super calm and relaxed for being a open floor. All the artists were nice! Would go again!

I highly recommend Moon Tattoo studios. Everyone there seemed very kind and Tina, who did my tattoo, went out of her way to make the experience extra enjoyable for me. Not to mention the actual tattoo was out of this world. Impeccable line work, superb contrast, just an all around solid tattoo. Again, I highly recommend Moon Tattoo.

Couldn't be happier. Jason was great! Not only he created a piece of art I'm extremely happy with but he made me feel very comfortable (it was my first tattoo). The place was immaculate, very clean, great environment, good music, everyone was so polite and professional. Go follow him on Instagram and check out the other artists too!!! Like I said, Couldn't be happier, this is the place to spend your money.

I had an amazing experience at Moon Tattoo. The shop is super clean and inviting. My artist, Ella, did a fantastic job. They’re so kind, creative, and professional; my appointment ended up the best tattoo session I’ve ever had!

I was tattooed by Sproul! I had an ATM mishap right before my appointment and wouldn’t be able to get the money for the tattoo by my appointment time. He was very understanding and patient. About 45 minutes later I resolved my ATM issue and he was able to accommodate me and still do the tattoo!
The tattoo is near an intimate area of my body and he made sure I felt comfortable. He was respectful and kind.

I also didn’t a bring a snack and they got me one so I had the strength to go on with the tattoo 😂 great shop with great artist!!
