World Famous American Dragon Tattoo

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. Before walking in the door, I had several ideas of what I wanted but wasn’t exactly sure how to make it work. Red helped make my ideas come to life. It turned out f-ing awesome!! I would highly recommend this shop and Red to anyone.
Can’t wait to get my next piece done!

Can't say anything about their work as my experience didn't go passed their counter. Before arriving my friend and I called to inquire about small matching tattoos, on the phone they were not specific and extremely vague about pricing so we decided to bring the conversation to the shop to discuss things in detail. Upon arriving at the shop we were interrupted mid explanation and asked to provide our IDs. We showed them what we wanted and were quoted $120 each. Now, these tattoos were all black lines, no shading, as big as a half dollar with no intricate details. $240 total. That is straight robbery. They will charge outrageous prices because they are often the only tattoo shop opened late in Galveston. Do yourself a favor and drive the 20 minutes into Texas City to Black Lotus Tattoo shop! They were amazing, Jacqueline squeezed us in before they closed, the shop was clean and the vibe there was on point. Black Lotus did both our tattoos for $120 total. So if you're trying to get a random tattoo with your bestie on a whim for a decent price, AVOID World Famous American Dragon tattoo.

I visited this shop back in Januray and somehow forgot to leave a review?!? I first got my septum pierced by Hollywood and I loved it so much I had to come back for a tattoo! John boy was amazing. He was very nice to both my mom and I. He even used his tattoo gun to play the "Happy Birthday" song to me. Great place to go. Can't wait to visit again.

I went here due to not wanting to send money to a complete stranger online to get a tattoo.Nor did I want to drive all the way to the Northside of Houston. I wanted something else but wasn't willing to pay the amount mentioned . (Only because I never been here before ) So I wanted to get something simple just to see how the tattoo artist does, expecially since I have dark skin. Red did my Rose . My only complaint and why I gave 4 stars is due to the "ea" at the end the "e" is not connected to the "a" and the "a" is kind of spaced away from the e . It's a very simple fix (just need the e and a connected to each other) so I'm not really sweating it . I think he did great and I will definitely come back . Absolutely love my tat and so does my daughter ❤️ Very respectful , and friendly atmosphere..

I went to John Boy to get my first tattoo and he did an AMAZING job!!! He took his time and made sure I was 100% happy with the size and placement before he did anything. There was no feeling that he was rushing to get me in and out, he really wanted to make sure I enjoyed the entire process. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for their next tattoo!!!

So I just got my second tattoo from John Boy and it was just as an AMAZING experience this time as last time. The line work is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I can't wait for more!!

Just got my fourth tattoo and just as happy with this one as my first. John boy always does great work and I am very pleased with the end result!!!

Odie gave my husband and I lettering pieces of each others names and went above and beyond to give us high quality tattoos! Odie took his time to throughly explain the differents styles of lettering. We were able to pick out different styles and gave us EXACTLY what we wanted! A week later I attended the Houston tattoo convention and got another lettering piece from a traveling artist. I got two lettering tattoos by another artist and Odie a week apart and the excellent experience with Odie blows the other guy out of the park! Odie is great company and a great tattoo artist. Thank you Odie for giving us timeless tattoos that we can enjoy for our lifetime!

I had an awesome experience here. I would highly recommend this shop to everyone. All of the artists/staff were friendly, the shop was clean and compliant with all the Covid requirements, and overall it just had a good vibe. I had scheduled an appointment with John Boy and he was ready on time. He was able to take the mermaid image I had in mind and make it unique to me. I love the art work he did and look forward to going back for John to add some water detail to her.

Odie is a boss. Did an amazing cover up for me. Had great ideas about the piece and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him

Walked in after a dream from last night, and John Boy made it come a reality! We only waited 30min. And then he drew up what our thoughts, with the help of a photo, with adding his touch, and 2 tattoos later, my wife and I walked out with a memorable event in our lives. Thanks so much! If ever in area again, will be back!

We had an amazing experience at American Dragon Tattoo! Both guys were extremely nice and helpful, and out tattoos look great! We’ll definitely be back!
