Painstaking Art Tattoo Shop

This will be my third tattoo with Nick and I honestly couldn't be more happy with our first session. He's easy to work with and will definitely be able to give you a badass piece of ink. I'd highly recommend reaching out to Nick and seeing if he's the right artist for what you want.
The shop's vibe was exactly what you'd expect from a tattoo shop. Clean workplace and they have a lot of awesome art work on the walls to look at while you wait. And everyone that I met was very pleasant to be around.

I've been knowing Nick for a while now as soon as I heard he relocated elsewhere I booked my next appointment immediately. As soon as I walked into Painstalking art I was greeted by everyone there including the owners. I've never felt so welcomed before. This isn't just a 'shop' its home. Tracy has been tattooing me for the past 17yrs. We have been working toward my body suit and in all the years of being tattooed by him he has expressed the up most professionalism and taken his craft very seriously. Just recently, I had a session at Painstaking and it is by far the best tattoo shop in Houston. Tracy, Gabe and his team are some heavy hitters and can provide any type of work you need done.

I was looking for a place to get my koi sleeve/coverup done. Tracy Lambright does an amazing job! Him and his team are so talented. I get compliments on his work almost daily. This is definitely one of the best shops in Houston! Be sure to stop by and get some work done, I know I’ll be a long time customer!

Best tattoo place in town! It is one of the cleanest in town. I have had both arms done with various types of tattoos from traditional to letting Tracy do free hand drawings. Tracy is simply the best! I trust him to do all my artwork. He is so immensely talented!

This is an amazing shop with great professional artists. I got to work up my own traditional Japanese design with Tracy for a upper arm sleeve and it has turned out amazing!! No blowouts or fading I’m super happy with the results. Definitely 5 stars for these guys and definitely would recommend anyone to get their tattoo done here.

This place is amazing! Super clean, awesome staff and owners. Tracy has done all of the tattoos that I’m proud of and even offered to fix one that someone else messed up. Also he is in the process of doing my sleeve. I always trust his judgement when I give him ideas and he has always exceeded expectations when I see what he draws up. All of the artists there are great and highly skilled.

Tracey designed an Original Iron Maiden Japanese themed half sleeve tattoo for me. The tattoo itself looks amazing and the workmanship is of the highest quality. The shop itself is also great with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would 100% recommend reaching out for anyone looking for a tattoo. You won't be disappointed. I'll be going back for more work in the future.

I have been getting tattoos from Tracy Lambright since 2003. I have 5 large pieces done (over 100 hours worth) and he is the only artist I will ever have tattoo me. He is an amazing artist, which has evolved to an even better friend. ALL of my tattoos have been cover up so when I was looking to get them covered up I knew I needed to find someone who was not just creative but could transfer OUR vision to my skin. One of the reasons I choose Tracy to do my first cover up was he was extremely approachable. I was already a bit intimidated walking into a tattoo shop but he quickly made me feel comfortable. We compared horrible tattoo experiences and I told him a bit about what I wanted to do. He gave me some creative ideas which instantly gave me hope that I could turn my current tattoo into a bright, crisp piece. I looked through his portfolio book which was on the counter and saw some of his before and after photos of his work on other cover up. I put a small deposit down which secured my appointment and covered the time he would send drawing my tattoo. We broke the tattoo into 6 appointment each one being about 3 hours long and by the end of our sessions I had my sleeve. Ever since then I have made several friends in his shop. They are all amazing artist which can all do great tattoos. My wife has gotten tattoos by several of them. I’m my opinion you get what you pay for and a tattoo is something that you should never compromise the quality. You can’t go wrong with this shop. Tracy, Big Gabe or any of the other artist in there are more than capable of making your custom piece become reality.

Incredible work! Great artists, great staff. Clean & cozy shop. Always a fantastic atmosphere! I was turned down by several artists for a major cover up and Tracy didn’t hesitate to start- highly professional and very kind.Definitely recommend!
