Walked in and was greeted with quick service and professionalism. I walked in and was so relieved it smelled clean and fresh, very well sanitized. Julia did multiple piercings for me and was very informative and patient with me. Highly, HIFHLY recommended!!

Went in and set up an appointment and met with my chosen artist Erik who is in my opinion got the best skills around... And believe me i met with a lot of artists in a few different shops and looked at tons of portfolios of completed work... But I finally found Erik who style and skill was what I was looking for... On the day of my appointment I was nervous and excited as anyone with a tattoo knows those pre tat gutters of man this gonna hurt but IV e been there i can do this... Erik laughed and said everyone is like that no matter how much ink they have... Very clean and professional... Made sure I was comfortable the entire time as I have si dysfunction which doesnt allow for me to sit in one position too long without leg spasms and after explaining Erik was great and patient with me... The 3 hour session flew by and Erik didnt over work any area its now the next day and it feels great no pain... No tightness.. Excellent tattoo... Will definitely be going back once this is healed to have him finish out my entire calve and fix my lily from college lol!!! I recommend this shop to anyone who wants an awesome tattoo thats willing to pay for quality work!

Hands down the only place I’ll ever get tattooed! I love this shop. The owners of both locations are a husband and wife team and really have honed in on a collaborative and talented group of artists. American Classics shops are a total gem in the Hampton Roads area. I see Erik he’s super talented and sick with traditional pieces. 🙌 If you want high quality customized work with a great experience hands down look no further. I like Rob because he got me in quick even tho he told me there would be a longer time wait than what I actually waited for ! Sam is a really nice guy and helped me find out who I wanted to be my artist! everyone is really nice overall and super clean!

Erik does some of the best American traditional work I have ever seen! American classic’s staff is always welcoming and very knowledgeable and the shop is clean and inviting. There is an artist that can do any style of tattoo you walk in there wanting and I have loved everything I have gotten done so far!
