I was in town and got my first tattoo piece done by The talented Julio B. For a pretty good sized piece he was quick (not rushed) and thorough. Good environment all around. Amazing work, beyond happy with the result... Thank you!!

To be honest, I never ended up making in to the shop. I saw some of Josh Stephens stuff online that was really well done, so I called to make an appointment. Whoever the tool is that answers the phone was as aloof as he was rude, probably on something at work. This isn't my first tattoo, and the routine I am used to is setting up a consultation first to discuss what it is to be done, then you set up the date to get it done. This dude was like, uh, what do you want. So I attempted to explain I wanted and couldn't quite make out his comments so I asked what do you mean?, he replies...what do you mean? Tried to explain again - I want traditional stuff for background filler that could work with a mostly nautical theme like maybe some flowers and the like. Then after putting me on hold for 8 mins, he came back and said, "so nautical is like the sea and flowers are like flowers"....really, thanks for clearing that up buddy. This is why that initial consultation makes sense. Unless you want a Barb wire around your arm, art can be hard to explain over the phone. Then add this dudes too cool for school attitude to the mix, I ruled this place out. Too bad, Josh's stuff looks sick. After asking other reputable shops including 2 that I used in the past, the consensus is hold it down is more of the hipster walk-in type of place so glad I passed. Too many other friendlier shops that have been around longer to choose from. To the Dude that answers the phone, maybe your 10 speed got a flat on your way to work, or you can't afford $1 Pabst night, but a little customer service goes a long way.
