After much research on looking for an artist to create a special tattoo I wanted to honor my son, I found Cat Johnson’s work to be the artist I gravitated to. Her shading work I found to be gorgeous and what I envisioned. I set up an appointment with Cat. Showed her what I was looking for, spoke with her about what I wanted. After putting the deposit in. She designed it and I loved it. The vision came to life. I did not know I could love a design even more after it was on my skin. Cat was professional, composed and really thorough. The staff was very nice and accommodating with scheduling. The experience was awesome and I would recommend dark horse to those looking for some original pieces.
I can say, I will be returning to Cat for some more tattoos.

I just finished up my tattoo with Reese and couldn’t be more happy. I had a custom design and he listened to my details to get it how I wanted. He is very professional and honest. My tattoo took several hours but he made me feel comfortable and the time flew by. Very talented and is willing to give his honest opinion about a
design. The receptionist are great, and are an important and helpful part the team. Everyone is professional and helpful. Will be going back soon to add more to the tattoo! A bonus is that when they tattoo you it’s in a private room but the door is open and people check on you to see if there is anything you need !

CAT IS AWESOME! The shop is super clean and they are doing a great job with COVID precautions. Cat was spectacular and I’m so happy with my new art. She was easy to talk to and was super knowledgeable, it’s obvious that she loves what she does and takes pride in her work. I can’t say enough great things about my experience at Dark Horse.

I cannot express how much I love this shop. I got my first tattoo done here by Cat and four years later, I'm still in love with it. I got two more tattoos here a little over a year ago by Jon and I absolutely adore them. He made sure to inform me that what I originally thought I wanted wasn't a good idea due to the very high possibility of the ink spreading and recommended outlining it in black. He said ultimately he would do what I wanted but I'm so glad he warned me of the risks before he did the tattoo. A year later and it still looks amazing. I will definitely be getting all my future tattoos here.

This was my first tattoo so I was really nervous. The man at front desk was SO friendly and welcoming. He explained the general process to help ease my stress. Jon was my artist. He was amazing. He was very skilled and talented, even though my piece was small and simple. He also drew up and completed a small piece for my husband. The shop was clean and comfortable. Overall our experience was great!

On every visit I was greeted by Steve, who made sure I felt welcomed and comfortable. Steve was attentive and checked on me several times during each visit. Excellent service from start to finish!
My artist was Cat, I can not begin to say enough about her. During my initial consult, she took my half formed idea from my very non-artistic brain and breathed life and beauty into it. I was absolutely stunned at art approval, how well she captured my hopes. The original artwork, however, pales in comparison to how she gave it depth and life on my skin! I am very pleased at the results. I will be visiting again very soon!
