Rick was awesome, very attentive to detail. I got the first part of a sleeve done and plan to return. The pricing was fair and i was happy with what I walked out with. Not to mention, one of the employees brought another customer and I Starbucks while we were waiting for our appointments. Very professional and clean environment.

This place is the best tattoo shop I’ve been to so far. The atmosphere is wonderful and the people are so friendly. The artwork is also extremely well done. I came in to get a angel done on my hip bone (a pretty sensitive spot) and I had Johnny. He did a beautiful job and made it as pleasant as it could be. Will be coming back again for sure

I love this shop and it's very talented group of artists. I have had the pleasure of getting work done by Matt Williams and Mike Cann. I have enjoyed my time with them every time I go in. I have gotten many of my tattoos done here and love them all. They were well thought out in design and the colors are vibrant and bold. I absolutely love the quality of work they do. They are very sterile, neat and clean as well. And it also helps that their pricing is very affordable. I love that you can bounce ideas off of the artists and they are fully capable of delivering excellent work. Everyone is very friendly, laid back, social and comforting. I have friends who also go to Folk City, and have never heard a negative comment. I highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone.

I absolutely NEVER leave reviews on anything 🤣 BUT I have to this time. For the last maybe 5 years I’ve wanted to get my nipples pierced but I was terrified to do so. Well today was the day! Finally got it done by non other than Kazo. Don’t sleep on the “apprentice” title. This guy was amazing! He hyped me up the entire time and he was so professional! The piercings are beautiful, honestly didn’t hurt as much as I thought they would. I would 100% will recommend Kazo and Heather (got my septum pierced by her a few months back she is A-MAZING)

His artistry shined through his work because my tattoo turned better than the model I'd originally presented after EJ incorporated his own unique touches. Folk City Tattoo is by far the best place you could possible go in the west Hampton Roads area. Jbird has been my artist there for close to 2 years now and is the most friendly hard working tattooer I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Scheduling a tattoo here may take a while and some people may say it's to "Expensive" but with tattoos "You get what you pay for" and for the quality of work from Folk City I would consider it on the cheaper side. I would Highly recommend anyone to this shop as it has been my go to spot now for so long. I have recommended 8 of my friends here to get tattoos and none of them have left disappointed with plenty of them coming back for more.

I came to Nate Hudson with a picture of a guinea pig and a funny childhood memory. He took more ownership over the creation of what is now, hands down, my best tattoo. The level of detail that he put into the design and getting it just perfect is truly the best I have seen. I really could not have asked for any better. Definitely someone I will go back for the next design and he is worth the wait.
