While I love the artist and I've been going to Tehran Tattoo since it was a hole in the wall place, IE: Room rented in someone else's barbershop. There is still a good deal of work to be done in order to really make Tehran Tattoo a 5 star establishment.
First is that he still needs to pick up more equipment for the job. Specifically actual adjustable and comfortable tattoo chairs for people to sit in for long sessions as well as adjustable and semi-mobile tattoo beds for long or short sessions in awkward locations which require these prone positions. An added bit of bonus might be saniderm instead of cling wrap once you are done but this product can be costly and you must weigh the cost of a product and value of the service over the use of this particular tactic so I understand why it isn't used for now.
Next is that there is no handicap access to the facility. The sidewalk has no ramp though, as a small consolation, it is very low so it can be managed. For someone like myself who is not wheelchair bound and only uses a cane and prosthetic you should be ok but if you need much else it's going to be rough. There is also no disabled parking in the lot though that is more the fault of the lot owner than the shop owner (which same can be said about the sidewalk to the shop.)
The artist is getting much better with his english and it seems that he has an assistant or a partner now who is fluent in english if there are any snags in the communication but I haven't really had an issue on this front before.
Pricing here is incredibly reasonable and I would go so far as to say that it might be some of the most competitive in town. While the work isn't masterful it is good and still worth your money not to mention the artist is more than willing to work with you on fixing errors, doing touch ups, additions, or any other number of things you may need.
He is extremely kind and courteous. Usually quite flexible and both he and his assistant make small but often heartfelt gestures that I think help to push this studio ahead of others in my book. From the way they speak to you to the positive demeanor to the casual way they will offer you a free bottle of water and check to make sure if you need a break during a longer session or just keeping an eye on things and noticing if you seem uncomfortable. It is these little things that make a very big impression at least on someone like me.
Ultimately I would recommend this studio for tattoo work with the caveat that the artist continue to improve the shops environment in which he provides his service. And hey, as an added bonus he isn't someone that shies away from having people wear their masks and practice social distancing. So, if you're looking for a place then maybe consider this one. I did and I haven't regretted it yet.
