Hello. Today (06/14/22) was my first experience at this parlor. In the end, it was a mixed feeling, which is why I gave it a 3/5 stars. The place is nicely located along Roosevelt Road with no parking issues. They even have parking facilities behind the parlor. Inside, the place was neat and tidy. Friendly staff/artists which is a plus.
So, on to our tattoo experience. I've gotten tattooed before but it was my girlfriend's first experience and we were there to get 2 sets of matching tattoos. We had met with our tattoo artist, Gilbert, on Saturday for initial consultation as to what we wanted and for any kind of suggestion/recommendation that he may have (which he didn't). In my previous experiences, all the artists that worked on me had some sort of input about the work that I was getting done. That wasn't the case this time, which was a bit unfortunate.
Gilbert definitely is a talented artist and I wouldn't question his work. In fact, I was very surprised to see how quickly he was able to complete his work. Eventually, my girlfriend and I ended up getting 3 instead of the 4 tattoos that we had initially planned on - one set of matching tattoos and an additional one for myself. They were all very simple and tiny designs and, if I am not mistaken, I believe Gilbert completed all 3 of them in 30 minutes or so!!!
This is where it gets interesting. Our appointment was at 1:00 pm and by the time everything was done and dusted, it was 2:30 pm. So, it looks like an hour was spent doing paperwork, prepping and chit chatting. When I went to pay, I was told that the damage was $280. That's in addition to the $50 deposit that was made on Saturday. So, if I understood it correctly, it cost me $330 for 30 minutes worth of work on 3 tiny tattoos. That's $110/tattoo!!! I was completely bemused. I wanted to question the charge but considering it was my girlfriend's very first tattoo experience, I decided not to and just let it go.
Will I recommend this place to others? I guess I would. However, based on my experience, I would clarify the price of the work beforehand instead of waiting for a surprise on your way out!!!

I have been working on a sleeve with Joey Spooks for about a year. He has always crushed the tattoos he has put on me. Clean shop. All the people at this location as well as there other location in Fox Lake, IL are amazing. If you are looking to get ink, you need to talk to one of the two of their shops. Thanks Joey and Keith for the art you both did on me!

Wow! This is a fantastic studio with top-notch facilities and artists. I was fortunate enough to receive my first tattoo here, and it won't be my last. First, the studio is clean, professional, and everyone working here is awesome - friendly and talented. I wasn't certain what to expect as this was my first experience, but they made me feel welcome, put me at ease, and made the experience special and memorable. Second, my artist Kyle was simply AMAZING. Incredibly talented, tweaked my original design to a beautiful, custom masterpiece, and was gentle and experienced. My time in the chair flew by and I really enjoyed chatting and laughing with him. His art is detailed, clean, original and stunning. I highly recommend, it's a gem of a studio here in southeast WI. And Kyle is the bomb! Thank you for taking such great care of me and for providing me with a meaningful piece of art.

I was a pain too deal with and they stuck it out with me ! Very happy I decided to go to this shop , they were very understanding and caring also . all my questions were very answered clearly as well .

Best tattoo experience I've ever had........The owner (Dale) was professional and informative. He asked if I had a budget he needed to work with and that simple question right there, made all the difference in my visit. I had never been asked that question at other tattoo shops, so I thought that was amazing! Gil did my tattoo and I was astounded by his work. It has great precision, clear lines, nice spacing and lettering, he was not heavy handed and made me feel extremely comfortable in every way. (He also didn't complain when I moved a little because I'm a sissy for pain lol). Kyle did my girlfriends tattoo and that looked amazing as well. They did NOT over charge (we actually got really great prices considering the extreme inflation as of last year) and stayed within my budget. I am so thankful I found this shop and I hope to visit them again very soon. The world has become sooooo ugly, but Electric Art................brought beauty into my life in many ways! My daughter and I went and got tattoos from Dani and we LOVE them! Dani was on top of EVERYTHING. This was my daughter’s first tattoo and she got it on her foot. Dani was so patient and understanding with her. She was also quick to answer any questions and emails. I would highly recommend Dani and this shop to anyone!! Thanks Dani!
