Dave Nielsen, Hand and Eye Tattoo owner, is a true professional - talented, welcoming, and so, so clean! He did fantastic line work on my script tattoo. His shop isn't dark and demonic like others I've seen - bright, comfy, and inspirational. I love my new tattoo, will visit again, and highly recommend!

Son who is 17 scheduled and appointment. I got there before he did and told the guy o was meeting my Son there, he rudely exclaimed “ he can’t have any visitors,” I said “well I’m his Mother and he’s 17.” He said “Well he can’t get a Tattoo!” I said “well what about his $100 deposit.” He said “I can’t give a refund.” I feel as though he should have asked my Son prior to scheduling his age and he should’ve went over the fact that he couldn’t get a tattoo because of his age even if he has his parents consent. This guy basically robbed my Son. I guess he needed it bad.

Dave is an awesome artist as well as being Covid conscious. It's a cozy shop right off East Washington Ave & is easy to get to. You're not going to walk into the shop & feel uneasy at all. I've gotten one tattoo from him & will be returning for more.

Dave is an amazing artist and does an incredible job. There’s only one client at a time so there’s no rush: he’ll take the time to make sure it’s exactly how you want it. Dave has done three of my tattoos and I’m headed in for another soon!

Dave is extremely skilled and flexible with shading, realism, texture, perspective, and color. He has spent a lifetime honing his art, and his extensive portfolio showcases a huge number of styles (including realistic portraits.) He is always early to appointments, professional, polite, and kind enough to put the most anxious first-timer at ease. Hand and Eye as a shop is very clean, quiet, and peaceful.

I have wanted a tattoo for years now and spent over a year planning this tattoo. Dave has done multiple tattoos for my sister, so I knew I had to give him the honour of my first tat. he did wonderfully! hes very kind, thoughtful and gentle and great at listening to his client and considering their needs. I have a low pain tolerance and am prone to fainting, and Dave was so considerate and careful and made the whole experience less stressful and less painful.
