This is by far the best spot to get a tattoo! Wherever you are in the Bay, I highly recommend Rich in Flesh!! The environment is top notch. You can immediately tell the vibe and are immediately put at ease. I was beyond impressed with how all of the artists interacted with each other and showed support.

My overall experience was great! After searching through dozens of local tattoo artists, I found Amy Zager on Instagram and fell in love with her style. I love her use of color and creative designs. I have always wanted an octopus tattoo, but I knew the octopus by itself was kinda weak. I emailed Amy and asked her to design something fun using the octopus as inspiration. She did not disappoint! I was amazed when I saw her design, and even more amazed to see that artwork tattooed on my arm. The tattoo is fairly large and took two sessions. This is my first tattoo and it was such a good experience. Additionally, the tattoo shop was very clean and looks cool. The other artists I saw there were also nice and professional.

I started my first tattoo with Amy at the second location (1549 N. Vasco). She has been phenomenal throughout the process. I have a pretty severe nickel allergy I was concerned about, and she had been the only artist I'd contacted that suggested doing a small allergy test. I have the cutest little rainbow on my ankle now to ensure I wouldn't have a reaction and my fears were put to rest. She drew a custom mermaid for me, and she incorporated everything I mentioned and then some. It is so detailed and I literally gasped when I saw it before the first session. She was open to small changes and asked if it was good (no changes needed, but I was glad she asked), took her time to make sure it was printed to a good size (she had to Frankenstein it together from 2 sheets to make it perfect) and took her time to place it.

The tattooing itself is what you'd expect, some places easier than others (side of the thigh towards the back is no joke people, or the very top of the thigh 😵). She was quick and efficient while still being very careful and thorough. We chatted for some of the process, I read my book for others; to me it didn't feel like I had to talk, but could if I wanted to. The outline only took 2 ish hours, and she gave me the choice to stop or to continue with some of the color. I was in a lot of pain, but I decided to keep going. Not sure if this is industry standard, but her antiseptic has some lidocaine in it, and her color inks do as well, so some of the shading I didn't even feel.

Overall, I spent years trying to convince myself to just get a tattoo, and I'm so glad I ended up waiting. Amy has been phenomenal and if you gasp every time you see her post something new on her IG (like me), then you can't go wrong with her. I cannot shout her praises enough, the waiting time is absolutely worth it.

I’ve been tattooed many place over the years and by many people, but Amy Zagar from Ink Gallery Tattoo in Livermore (the Vasco Road location) was amazing! She was so nice and sweet as a person, on top of thorough and professional and CRAZY TALENTED!! I highly recommend this shop and Amy in particular. Her attention to detail in her tattoos is amazing, and she has so many styles she can do! Check her out. I will definitely be back. 🖤

Overall i liked my experience, i did have to wait a bit i am inpatient but the quality of work changed my attitude vastly. I still have one more visit to attend to finish my half sleeve but which im looking forward to. Prices are reasonable for the High quality of work they provide. They are professional and clean. Trust me when i say i analyze everything and they passed my test. Ive been to 3 other tattoo shops and gosh they all received a 1 star ! So by giving a 5 start you no this place is worth it. Location is easy to find, and their hours are convient. Thanks Oc Thomas for the work you did on me. Im very happy with my new tattoo artist !
