Farsyde Tattoo

Wife tried to get in without an appointment and we were unsuccessful. This review is strictly for the way the Artist treated us while having to turn us down.

He was working on a customer when we walked in without an appointment seeking a same day appointment. He did NOT immediately stop what he was doing (a fantastic thing) to see what we wanted, instead we waited patiently for 7-10 minutes until he found an appropriate place to take a break and see who we were. It was obvious he cared about the piece he was working on and was reluctant to stop.

He was extremely polite and to the point.

He told us he was sorry, but there were no spots open for a few days. He recommended a few other places we should try and excused himself back to his customer.

If I was that customer that's exactly what I'd expect if it was my wife laying there waiting on him to complete her session.

Exactly.

The man has to attend to the counter if he's got an unlocked, advertised storefront... but when there's someone getting work done they should come first.

We were unfortunately unable to become customers, but I'd still recommend you go there.

Got my very first tattoo with Farsyde with Brandon Yama as my artist. Was absolutely fantastic. Took it slow with me as it was my first tattoo and it looks amazing! Originally there was not as much yellow but once I let it slip that yellow was my favorite color he added more and I couldn’t be happier! Service was incredible and the guys there are very kind and hilarious to interact with! If I come back to Kauai I will be visiting them again!

Jason is the one who did my tattoo but all of these guys were just down right coool. I wasn't sure what I wanted to get done so I came in with a few different ideas and we sat right outside and bounced ideas around until we landed on exactly what I wanted, which was a branch of a mango tree.

I explained to them the style that I like and Jason was drawn to my idea. He decided that that was something he was interested in doing and chose to do the project himself. This made the work turn out beautifully since he was personally invested in the piece. He used actual pictures of a mango tree to draw the tattoo which made it look unique, realistic and captivating. I enjoyed his style of thin line work and trusted his artistic ability. He has a sweet soul and it shows!

All around great company to be around and the pricing is fare, but they have families to support so tip kindly!

We started out really impressed with Yama. My wife's tattoo is gorgeous. He obviously took time to draw in details. And then there was mine. I asked for a fern, gave him a picture so he had an idea of what i was looking for. What I got was no where near what I was originally looking for. But I trusted his process. He hand drew it on me, no stencil. I figured it was his creative process. Shading looks good, but overall, unimpressed with mine. It looks like a 10 year old drew it. I told him the ball park of what i wanted and gave him the freedom to be creative. So maybe that is my fault for putting too much trust in Yama. And then he charged me $250 for it, when it took less than two hours. I wish I would have told him I was unhappy with it, but I ran out of time. I guess I should have been even MORE clear with what I wanted permanently marked on my body. So given all of that, I am giving this rating 2 stars. My wife's looks fantastic (5/5), but mine, not so much(2/5). I feel jipped and taken advantage of. If you choose this place, though it has nice staff and fun vibes, be very clear what you want. And have the courage to tell them if it doesn't match your style.

Jason is such a dope human!! He’s super down to Earth and welcoming. I decided I wanted a tattoo right before my flight home and I’m glad I did. It was a great way to end my trip here in Hawaii. Hopefully I’ll be coming back soon! 😊

Rob was our artist. We were in Kauai for my wife’s 40th birthday and we decided to get some “permanent” souvenirs. We picked tiki tattoos. We described what we wanted to Rob and then he turned them into reality. I wanted a “New School” vibe, and the wife wanted something a little more feminine. Rob did a great job. The vibe and cleanliness of the shop was awesome. It wasn’t in a mall or shopping center. It was located above a garage in an industrial part of town. We loved our experience there. And the fact that Rob was concerned with our vacation time and worked around our schedule was awesome. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

Great group. Made us feel welcome. Alot of artistic talent went into the planning and design of both my exotic cover and my GFs honu work. Laughs and hugs along the way. Recommended.

Got this done while on vacation. Came in a few days earlier to schedule an appointment. Came in on the day and got this incredible piece done by Kasey. We were a group of 3 and each of us got a tattoo done by a different artist. They all came out incredible, cannot recommend this place more.
