The only correspondence me and my artist Nicole Hill had was through Instagram. The day before my appt. I messaged my artist asking to see the sketch. It was read but never replied to. I sent another message saying see you shortly, no reply. Then I arrive, start filling out my paper work and she brought over the sketch to my dismay it was the wrong tattoo. I drove over an hour for no reason not to mention canceled a romantic V-Day getaway. Only thing I was offered was a reschedule that was 2 weeks away smh. Not a discount, nothing just another 2 week wait and the possibility of wasting more gas to drive back to Milford. I asked if she could do it the next day or if I could have a refund. She opted for the refund of course because God forbid you tattoo at a time you don't normally tattoo to right a wrong. I will admit she was very apologetic but accommodating NOT AT ALL.

This past Sunday I had a tattoo appointment booked with Lena Lawrence and Saturday evening I received an email that she messed up the time and wanted me to come in three hours earlier. Due to plans I already had I politely declined as that was not a time I could make. After that, I didn’t hear from her all evening until the next morning when she cancelled entirely. She tried to re book with me and only gave me a 2-3 week time span to do so and I couldn’t make it work between work, the fact I live an hour away and other obligations. I politely told her I didn’t wish to re book as I didn’t feel she was being very accommodating and asked about getting my deposit back since she was the one who cancelled. She advised me her boss would have to make that call and that the deposit went towards the drawing she did and eventually she just stopped responding to me when I advised her to check with her boss.
After this exchange I was very upset and emailed the owner of the shop and he didn’t respond to me at all to address or fix this. I will never recommend or go to this shop. I also was on Lena’s Instagram page and the drawing she claimed she was charging me for had already been tattooed on another client over a week prior to our appointment. The whole thing just seemed like the artist just found a drawing she could try to push off on me and it felt like no one cared about my time or business. Very unprofessional.

First time in the shop today and I’ll definitely be coming back. Whole staff is very friendly. Sam did my tattoos and they’re beautiful. Would highly recommend him. Afterwards we talked about and planned my future tattoos. He seems very passionate about his work and I’m excited for more art by him in the future!

TOYS AND THINGS YAY!
Last weekend I went to City Roots for the first time and got some words tattooed on me by Tom. He was very professional and the shop was very clean looking. It was a nice, relaxing environment. All the other customers looked very happy. My tattoo didnt take much time at all. It looks fantastic and is healing up really nicely. I am very happy with the shop and with Tom, and I will definitely be going back!

I’ve been going here since November... I’ve had the artists here help me fill a sleeve, get some leg tats done, and some back worked on. Hanna, Lena and Kelsey are amazing artists with incredible depth and ability. Everyone in the shop is amazing, unique and talented. It’s a bonus to find such an experienced artist in our own small town Michigan- he’s been nearly everywhere and can do any style. Great company and comfortable environment.
