GO HERE! Dan is the guy I went to to fix my tattoo I had done somewhere else and he is amazing. I have no other words for it. I always recommend him to my friends and anyone who will listen. I love this guy. Really check out his work for sure. You definitely get what you pay for here and the work is fantastic.

Hands down the best tattoo parlor in the Twin Cities. I went to more than 5 of the best rated shops, and eventually ended up here. It should have been my first choice. The manager tried his best to fit me in even though I had a very tight schedule, and ended getting my tattoo done with Nic. After 5 hours of a pleasant chat, the tattoo was done. Finely detailed, way better than I expected. And it ended being a lot cheaper than what every other tattoo shop estimated. Fair warning though, there will be a long waiting time since they are booked months ahead. But if you are thinking a tattoo for the rest of your life, you might as well wait a little longer and get it done by the best.

So I should start by saying that uptown tattoo has a great reputation and that’s why I chose to go there for a new piece. However my experience differs from that of little. Dan Kytola is who I choose to do my work. The first time I went I had to wait about two hours while he finished drawing my peace which I thought was a little strange but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt so I looked passed it. Outline went OK healed nicely I thought OK this is gonna be good. Second time I went waited an hour and a half to two hours again because he was finishing another tattoo. This time it didn’t really go as well this was the shading and coloring of a portion of my tattoo and he was very heavy-handed and it was quite uncomfortable. I should let you know that I have a good amount of tattoos I have healed many tattoos this tattoo however did not heal very well. It had issues from the jump it seeped sebum for 3 to 4 days after the crusty were much more intense and the lower part of my arm-not around the tattoo- swelled up to double the size of my arm leading me to go to the emergency room being afraid my tattoo was infected or something horrible was going on. I went to some other tattoo shops in the Minneapolis area and had them look at my tattoo and they all said that the guy must have been too heavy handed and gone over the same areas more than once. It’s been almost a month and it’s still not healed properly in those areas I hope it eventually does but I have a feeling it won’t. At this point I did not want to go back to him I didn’t feel comfortable I did not want more of my arm scarred but I wanted to have him look at it and see what he said. So I went in for my next appointment he came up to me at looked at it and totally brushed it off like oh it’s nothing it’s going to heal and talked to me for about two minutes tops then proceeded to tell me that He was going to tattoo his other client until he tapped out and this was already 40 minutes past my time. I thought about it and I decided to go with my gut and to leave and to have someone else finish my tattoo. Needless to say I’m very disappointed in my experience with uptown tattoo and Dan I found him extremely unprofessional and lacked care for my time or the health of my skin. Now I can say that the other artists around seemed like they were very professional and on time with their clients appointments as I sat there for hours as they were immediately taken back and taken care of so I’m only speaking of Dan. I don’t like writing bad reviews and when I went to other tattoo artist to ask them about mine I never told them who did my work but I feel like people should know because sometimes the shop having a really good reputation just isn’t enough.

I have been going to Brandon to get all of my tattoo work for 10 years now. I made the mistake of going somewhere else for a piece and it is leaps and bounds behind in quality.

Everyone I've ever encountered at the shop has been super friendly. The price is actually rather comparable to other shops and the quality of art is the best I've seen anywhere in the cities.

I had a great experience as a walk in getting my first tattoo. The artist took my template and made it perfect. I posted a picture on pinterest and it is a top search and is constantly repinned. Atmosphere was comfortable, especially since I was nervous!

I dropped a star because it was so incredibly busy (a good thing, proves they are legit!) but it felt like the artists were timed and penalized for taking the time they needed on the walk ins. The tattoo area was also very open and had lots of people traffic moving past so it was hard to stay grounded. I know there has been a remodel since i was there

Dan did my back. Not only is it awesome, he's a freakin cool dude. Actually, they all are there. If you're looking for ink, go to Uptown!

Nic did a cover for me and I love it! I get so many complements. He has a great personality, artistically talented and made the experience wonderful. I highly recommend him!

I've gotten several tattoos at Uptown Tattoo, most recently with Jeff. The staff are professional, kind, and, most importantly, produce excellent work. I would definitely recommend this shop!

Missing food from order! This happens ALL the time at this location. It has significantly gone downhill over the past years. And don't even bother trying to call a manager about your food missing. They'll just tell you to drive all the way back and pick up your missing item, completely starting the purpose when you're in a hurry to be somewhere. We don't eat fat foods because we like it...it's just a necessity!
