Review of Tinta Cantina
Tinta Cantina: A Tattoo Shop with Mixed Reviews
Tinta Cantina is a tattoo shop located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The shop offers a range of tattoo services, including traditional, black and grey, and color tattoos. The shop is open seven days a week, but the hours of operation are not available.
While Tinta Cantina has received some positive reviews, the shop has also received several negative reviews from customers. Some customers have praised the shop for its talented artists and reasonable prices. One customer even had a pawprint of their dog done and was beyond happy with the outcome. However, other customers have criticized the shop for its unsanitary practices, rude staff, and unprofessional service. One customer claimed that they were charged $100 for a quarter-sized tattoo that looked like it was done by a two-year-old. Another customer claimed that they got an infection and had to take out their piercing because the tools used were open and not cleaned.
It is important to note that some of the negative reviews are from several years ago, and the shop may have improved since then. However, it is still important for potential customers to do their research and read reviews before getting a tattoo or piercing at Tinta Cantina.

Overall, my experience was horrible. The tools used were open and not cleaned. It was extremely unsanitary, and I ended up getting an infection and had to take out my piercing. The service was less than ideal, and the owner had said a few offensive things to me. I would not recommend going here.

Amazing artists. This is my favorite shop, and I recommend it to all of my friends. Kane is an amazing artist, and I love the environment.

Um? This place is absolutely terrible. Overpriced and bad quality. I wanted a simple tattoo of a cross on my shoulder, and it was $100!! Not only that, but it was terrible quality. Smudged and the lines were very shaky. I wish I never came here, but I hope this review stops you from making the same mistake as me.

I waited until after the tattoo i got healed up so I could give a more honest review of here. Overall it was pretty expensive for a small tattoo, and after seeing how it healed up and the line work, I wouldn't recommend. They are still fantastic artists, but I would personally recommend Stay Gold, further east on Central...If you can ever catch them open that is.

Got my first tattoo here. Stuie did the work. He was fast, friendly and professional. Steady hands lead to clean lines and beautiful work. Prices are fair and set per artist. The building is decked out in bright colors, artwork, and quirky but poignant signage. The work space was small but not terrible. Tools kept clean and sterile. Very happy with the work done here, will definitely go back.

Well Iβll be! I went to get a tattoo of my own perks, and the outcome was absolutely not what I wanted! Talk about facecamping. Shakey lines and sexiest comments! Overpriced. DISCONNECT FROM THIS SHOP.

I love the tattoo made at Tinta Cantina! I only requested a small tattoo as my remembrance for a visit to New Mexico and the artist never failed to meet my expectations. The area is greatly designed with complex decorations and original art. Lots of tattoo artists seems to usually gather in this place and they discuss and show their artworks with each other. Hope I can visit again this place.

I've used Chris Partain for over 12 years. He's right at home at Tinta. The rest of the staff are awesome and welcoming as well as very talented. Chris handled my daughters first tattoo keeping her relaxed through the process explaining every step to keep her angst at bay and had her giggling to boot.

Have your design ready before you come thru!!! Lots of artwork in the design books located atop the surfboard/table, but it can be confusing & time consuming (as you peruse the designs).
One of few places in the area that takes walk-in clients. Seem strange to me, consider the overwhelming number of tattoo parlors & number of tatted up folks, but hey that's the law of the land. At any rate, I journeyed in to get a tattoo & was appointed to Abe to get me inked up. He did a good job & I must admit although there's a needle carving in my skin, he was gentle enough & allowed me time to make the adjustments for the pain. I was very tense, but his gentle hands helped me to relax during the process; he had a borderline sensuous touch that, ehhhhhhh ok I'll keep it clean, that made relaxing much easier.
Seems like they charge more by the hour & not necessary the size of the tattoo, as is in some other places; go figure, tomato, tomato.
After the art work was completed, there was a minor adjustment to be made, but that was done a week later to allow for scarring etc. But once that issue was corrected, all was good in the hood.
