Serene beautiful private place. Melanie's work is stunning I get stopped in public w amazing compliments. She does incredible work taken from art as well as fabulous freehand. She makes you very comfortable and has a terrific personality. I took my daughter and the work she did exceeded her expectations and mine. She's a true artist and I would never have any one else do work on me. I can't say enough, it's worth the trip and wait for the appointment.The color has stayed vivid, I plan to have more added. The photos are my favorite one it's on my arm about 5 years old.

Awesome place. Will only go here for tattoos/piercings from now on. Krystall did a huge cover-up piece for me and it came out amazing and she is so friendly. The piercer Will also helped me a ton by changing my rose ring. My piercing is crooked, so it hurt a bit yet he was so friendly and comforting and took care of me well. These guys are awesome, professional, and great at what they do.

From initial consultation to finished tattoo all was professional and top notch .everyone, especially the young man answering the phone was very polite and and put up with all my questions. Clean comfortable place with very talented artist. They stayed in touch during the whole planning stage and appointment stage and the price was very fair. Tat came out perfect and exactly how we wanted. Would give even more stars if I could. Will definitely be getting next piece done by them..UPDATE...just got 2nd piece done and booked the 3rd one.

I went for my tattoo. The whole experience from consultation to the actual tattooing was professional. The environment was clean, and the ambience was very friendly and serene. My tattoo artist Krystal put me at ease, worked with me, and I love my new tattoo - Just beautiful.

I have been coming to Dead Prez for years! I have been tattooed by Dan, Dustin, Christian, Krystal and Pete and they are all professional and nice tattooers. I am happy with every one of my tattoos! They are all very nice, caring and will work with you with whatever you need! I have also had Will assist me in my jewelry and he is extremely professional and courteous. If you are looking for the top tattoo shop in the Capital Region area, The Dead Presidents lunge is the best shop, hands down. You will never be disappointed!!!

I went to Krystal originally for a small cover up. She did an amazing job. I have since gone back for another consultation and am starting a half sleeve in September. The Dead Presidents Lounge is clean and professional. This is definitely the place to go if you’re looking for a nice long lasting tattoo.

Update: I just started my half sleeve, lion/lamb and the outline looks phenomenal! Wouldn’t go anywhere else for my tattoos!

When I was 18 I got a stupid tattoo. After 8 years, I finally mustered the courage to admit this fact, and with this admission, I decided it was time to rectify it. I went to Dead Presidents Lounge after multiple recommendations from friends who had gone, and I am extremely happy with the results. My artist (Pete) set my mind at ease early on, and worked with me to lay out some seriously cool ink.
The shop is super clean, almost doctor-office like (no white walls).
The only problem is parking near there is tough, but that's the charm of downtown Albany, right?

Having visited a number of tattoo parlors all over the country, I'm pleased to write this review for Dead President's Lounge. I would say that this is the premiere shop for the Capital District, and personally my go-to resource for any work that I'd be looking to get done, large or small.

The shop itself has a very professional atmosphere, and even better, a friendly vibe. Conveniently accessible off of Madison Ave's "Bohemian" district, DPL is immaculately organized over two floors of a local office building. The lower floor offers wellness services beyond just tattooing, which is fairly intriguing, and affords the clientele the experience of tattooing as exactly that: a form of wellness. Well-curated provider and artist rooms are connected via a main clerical and seated waiting area that has a chill, somewhat anthropological vibe, with graphical stylings, amusing cultural items, and portfolios available for examination. The offices are well-lit, well cared for, calm, and insightful in their layout. All of the sanitization rigor you would expect at an urgent care are secreted away in various nooks, and there is an abundant sense of care and technique to the shop's hygiene standards.

The variety of artists is what you would come to expect with a premiere shop; broad capabilities and range are available for all tastes, with specializations in particular techniques represented for the more hardcore subjects looking for original, authentic work in defined styles. Being an American Traditional/Sailor Jerry man myself, there's all sorts of goodies I could get done here, but those seeking photorealism, traditional Japanese styles, etc. will all find a safe haven here. The artists themselves are a joy to work with, Krystal in particular in my case, and there is a collegial, friendly atmosphere amongst the group that belies the fact that more is shared here than physical proximity alone.

Shop rates are reasonable given the premium nature of the experience; more importantly, you more than get what you pay for. My final word here is that I've gotten pieces at shops all over the country, some of which are a little less than stellar compared to others. DPL and Krystal were able to breathe life into one particular piece that had me a little depressed, and is now a favorite again. This is to say nothing of the big, broad, badass pieces I got new here, and Krystal was willing to work with me every step of the way to bring my vision to life.

Fantastic shop, now my home shop; you should stop on by with your project with no reservations except the one you can make online, or give them a call.

been there first time on Saturday. very cool clean great energy and the decor is super cool got the far eastern feel to it. the guy Derek that gave me the tatoo (got something very small) was super patient and nice made me feel very comfortable.
