The Ultimate Tattoo & Body Piercing

Elizabeth was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with a piercing I got at another shop. She informed me of what went wrong, what I could do, and inspected everything for me. She will be my piercer going forward!!

Dan gave me my first tattoo on my ribcage, for the decent size that it is, I was extremely comfortable and practically felt no pain. The work was fast and looks amazing so far! Thank you Dan and Ultimate for introducing me to tattooing in a very positive light.

I wouldn't go anywhere else for piercings-The Ultimate is clean, professional, and the artists are top-notch. Tony is truly a pleasure, he made me feel calm and comfortable from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. I would refer anyone to him without hesitation.

I've wanted to get my nose pierced for years. Now in my late 50s, I worried I'd look like I was "trying too hard." But the impulse won out and my friend Susan, a fellow religious studies professor at Nazareth College, agreed to join me. She got a beautiful birthstone set in the top of her ear and I have a sparkle in my nose. Elizabeth (an R.N.) and her apprentice Jenna gave us confidence in the process from start to finish, helping us choose the right jewelry and placement, and making it feel like our piercings were both an adventure and a good idea. Happy as could be with the results, we now have souvenirs from our visit that will last a lifetime.

Sue Gertner, of Ultimate Tattoo, will review your tat request professionally, offer suggestions, and listen to your desires, and when it is time to BE tattooed. she first tests you with the tat gun, and adjusts...there is minimal pain, and you will end up with a tat as close to your imagination as possible. She also is concerned with, and will followup with touchups if you request. She is amazing!!!

I am totally satisfied with the application and concern that she has offered over my tattoo, and I doubt I will have any other artist tattoo me ever again.

Alysha is the absolute best! My husband and I have had tattoos by Alysha and we wouldn't go to anyone else. She's very thorough. She nails exactly what you want. She draws it up beautifully and if you need it modified in any way, she's more than happy to do that. She is a true artist! She was able to fix an existing tattoo that had faded out and that I wasn't happy with and made it look incredible! She has the most amazing personality, and frankly you need that when you're sitting in a chair with someone for two hours.

Went in to buy a new earring for my conch piercing. Piercer told me at least three times I had my ear pierced with incorrect gauge. I’ve had my piercing at least ten years with no problems. Didn’t have any colored hoops in my gauge. Just bought a new ball for my old hoop. Piercer told me the charge for changing my earring was $5 then changed it to $10. No prices listed in the shop. Felt weird about my experience. Won’t be going back.

I went here to have a septum piercing put back in, since I couldn't do it myself even though it had only been out for about 30 minutes. The guy who helped me was super nice, tried everything he could, and even though he couldn't get the piercing back in without basically repiercing it, I gave him a tip for his efforts. If I ever decide to get my septum redone while I'm in Rochester, I'll definitely go here.

I am giving 2 stars because aside from everything else I am about to tell you, the girl that did my piercings was wonderful. She was kind, funny, and I really got along well with her.

A few months ago I went to this place for 2 piercings. These were a gift to myself for completing my second semester of Grad School. I had an appointment. The day of the piercing everything was great. I left and cared for it exactly as I was instructed to do so. About a week after the piercing one became infected. I tried to clean it more and more but it only got worse. I went to Urgent Care and they put me on antibiotics. I decided to try and leave it in and see what happened. It got better. However, the ball fell off the barbell less than 2 weeks after I got it pierced. Whatever, these things happen. Infections happen, the ball falling off can happen. I call, they tell me to come in and they will give me another one. I pay for the next one something to the tune of $6. I leave and a few days later, it falls off again. Now I'm annoyed. I call and they say to come in again. This time, the owner (I believe) was there. I had washed my hands and used sanitizer when I walked in because- COVID. She immediately yells at me to stop touching it. I said well it is going to fall out and I just washed my hands. She goes on to say "What are you doing to that thing? It looks awful!". I said this doesn't look awful compared to what it did look like. I am on antibiotics, it's fine. Can I just have the new ball? She proceeds to go on and on and talk to me literally like a child. I finally said "I am aware of proper hand washing, sanitizing, cleaning, and what an infection is like because I have been a nurse for 14 years". She then went on to tell me that "these infections are different than the ones you see as a nurse". Excuse me? I worked in the ER for 6 years, please tell me an infection I haven't seen. I had pulled right up to the front door as their counter is by the window. I say can I just have the ball so I can go? She then tells me I need to go back to the piercing room and have her put it on for me. I said "listen, my kid is in the car, I need to leave now. Please charge me for the ball and let me leave". She rolls her eyes and squirts a bunch of hand sanitizer in the bag with the ball and charges me a completely different price than the girl did a few days before that. Long story short, that ball fell off too and now the other ear is getting infected. I express shipped 14k gold earrings to put in my ears and both cleared up immediately and mysteriously after several weeks, that ball hasn't fallen off once. The jewelry is junk- total junk. The owner was rude and talked to me like I was a toddler. I would NOT recommend this place at all. I wouldn't normally do a bad review during such times when small business needs all the business they can get but I have to say- this place takes the cake for bad business!
