I can't say enough great things about this place. Jason did my most recent piece and its AMAZING. The shop is so clean and the entire staff is incredibly professional and talented. I will absolutely be going back for all of my future tattoos.

Called and was told they only do walk-ins. When we got there we ended up waiting 3 hours before someone got started on the designs. There were 3 of us all came with exact drawings of what we wanted. We waited another hour + for the designs. The artist got to tattooing and was extremely fast and rough on all of us and kept talking about needing to get out so he could get to another gig. I want to add color to my tattoo but I wouldn't want to go through this again just for a touch up.

Flew to San Antonio from Connecticut for my daughters wedding. After waiting 5yrs to get a memorial tattoo in honor of my father, I did my research while there, and Calaveras was top of the list. Stopped in the morning of the wedding and was greeted by Laura. Gave her a brief summary behind the tattoo with instructions for a cross with originality, and that I was leaving it all up to her. Later that same night I received some drawings from her...(Found out the following day,the idea came to her while having dinner with a visiting relative)Returned Sat for my scheduled appointment, and once again left the process up to her. Less than an hour later, all was said and done. After 5yrs I landed in the rite place at the rite time. The originality I was looking for she nailed. So to you Laura, you have my upmost appreciation. Not only will your work be forever etched on me, but our once in a lifetime meet up will also. Big ups to you girly. Thanks again from 2000 miles away.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! Jackie was phenomenal, she totally understood my idea and where I’m wanting to go with it. This is my 2nd time here and every time I come to SA , I will ALWAYS get my a tattoo done by Jackie or one of the fellow artists here. The whole place is a vibe and I love it !

Gerry greeted us and got us setup with Erika. We didn't have an appointment, but they were nice enough to accommodate us since our designs were small and simple. Erika did a beautiful job, and it was as painless as a tattoo can be.

After not having a new tattoo in many years, I was a little nervous to go through the process again. Gerry made me feel very comfortable. I am very happy with the end result! The environment was very clean and Gerry was very professional. He is a wonderful artist and I know many people who have been tattooed by him more than once, including my husband and daughter. He also throughly explained how to care for my tattoo. I followed his instructions and had no issues at all. We recommend him and Calaveras Tattoos to anyone we know who is interested in getting a great tattoo.
