Never been there before. But the first time I was blown away by the professionalism. Abby, my artist is amazing. I love her work. When she gets in her zone she is outstanding. She's done all my friends and they love her.

Jerry is one of the best in the business. Very talented and creative. Takes time with customer and makes sure to provide superior quality work. Sets example of what a true artist is. Highly recommend!

Love everything about this shop! Beautifully decorated! Employees are very friendly! We make the drive from Hampton to Gloucester every time we've wanted a tattoo since this location opened. Amazing artist!

(Third review) I ran into Max and he offered to make any changes I wanted. Stopped in today and he came in on his day off to accommodate. Already looking better. Will comment again after it heals a couple days. Thanks Max.

(Second review) As the swelling and redness has gone down and I've really been able to see the work, the coloring done is terrible!! Blotchy and speckled, not filled in completely - in fact hardly filled in at all!! And, as I said the first time, missed black lines too! For extremely high price of $300, compared to my other ink (more than twice the size, way better quality work and only 2/300 the price!) After bragging about how fast he works (and trashing other local artists - not cool dude) - now I can clearly see why it didn't take long at all. Other artists quoted me 3 hours in the chair - Max only took 50 minutes. I certainly hope this will be fixed at no additional cost and with some compensation for my inconvenience.

This was the worst experience I've ever had getting a tattoo. My friend and I were a walk-in on Saturday. There were two older men there who said they'd get an artist for us. We wanted simple designs, nothing crazy. They called in a younger man who ended up being extremely rude and disrespectful. He made rude comments about the work we wanted asking why we wanted the work we wanted and then criticizing our reasons for wanting them. At one point he asked my friend if she could get it on the opposite side so he didn't have to make a copy. After discussing the tattoo further, he asked her why she couldn't just get a keychain. When he questioned me about mine - he repeatedly asked why I wouldn't just get a realistic octopus. Towards the end he proceeded to say "girls like us don't need tattoos". Which seemed a bit late as I already had three. I highly recommend you find another location. The visit was miserable.

Edited to add response: I am not allergic to alcohol therefore not a reason to not tattoo me. However, I understand an artists desire to only endorse tattoos they think look good - that being said - I must have been fortunate in all other shops/artists that were upfront, honest, and professional with me to make suggestions to improve the piece requested. It’s unfortunate, the artist at Toucan Tattoo didn’t have the talent to improve the requested piece or the professionalism to be honest. Their work is good, but there are other artists around who also produce work of that quality.

Person who we talked to in the building was rude and tried to talk us out of tattoo we wanted and we felt like because he couldn't see out other tattoos he assumed we were stupid and had no clue about where and what we wanted, plus $50 flat rate is ridiculous for a tattoo the size of a nickel we decided to go somewhere else would not recommend it to women or people without visable tattoos we felt like he thought we were idiots because of how he talked to us never again stepping foot inside it I would take my chances with a home tattoer than this place. In reply to his comment I did NOT ask for a "tick sized heart" I asked for a Celtic friendship tattoo on the skin between my thumb and index finger for both me and my best friend who was also with me. But nice try at trying to make me look like the bad person in the situation. Maybe if you would have listened to us more instead of brushing us off you would have had a better idea of what we wanted instead of thinking we wanted some "tick sized tattoo" which is according to you what we wanted when it wasn't. Absolutely not recommending you especially when you can't even pay enough attention to a customer to hear what they actually ask for.

Both times I’ve come it has a been a great experience!! Jerry does great tattoos & gives great advice leading you into a good direction. Very reasonable prices!!!

Jerry and Bryant did a huge matching tattoo for my mom and I. They did a wonderful job! I can't recommend them enough.

This is not a boutique tattoo shop. These guys are pros who are at home with everyone from 1% bikers to first timers. Unlike other shops I have been to, there is no need for a sketch appointment followed later by the ink when they can squeeze you in. I Don't have time to waste on that BS. Just make an appointment with Jerry, bring a concept and watch it come to life. The price is a real bargain too.
