Union Ave Tattoo Company: A Place for Military and Civilians Alike
Union Ave Tattoo Company is a tattoo shop located in Lakewood, Washington. The shop specializes in body arts and has a primary category of tattoo shop. The shop is open seven days a week, but the hours are not available.
The shop has received mixed reviews from customers. Some customers have had a great experience and have praised the shop for its professionalism, cleanliness, and talented artists. One customer said, "Steve did an amazing job on taking my ideas and turning them into reality, highly recommend, friendly and proficient at what they do. Will definitely be going back for more." Another customer praised the shop for being military and veteran-friendly, "They are extremely military/vet friendly the apprentice that did mine is actually a vet so it was nice being able to have military conversations while it was being done."
However, some customers have had negative experiences with the shop. One customer complained about the high prices, "I came here for my first big piece so I was naive about prices. I was charged $400 and the tattoo was 1/3 of the size it was supposed to be. Don't rip off beginners because those are the people who will keep coming back for more. Do better." Another customer complained about the rude behavior of the owner, "Be prepared to wait over an hour as a walk-in. The owner was extremely rude. Calling me a liar. Baby, I have receipts. Overpriced. Never again."
Overall, Union Ave Tattoo Company is a place for military and civilians alike. The shop has talented artists who can turn customers' ideas into reality. However, customers should be aware of the high prices and the possibility of rude behavior from the owner.

I've been looking for an artist for two years to do my TMNT 1/4 sleeve. I met up with Q and he definitely hooked it up. These guys are awesome. They won't jerk you around and they will do everything within their power to help you out. If you're looking for skilled artists hit this place up. I promise they won't steer you wrong. Beautiful work done by this shop. I will be getting the rest of my work done here from now on. Love what you do Q and DK thanks guys!

Went in expecting some basic art but was really blown away the tattoo artists are both friendly and professional we talked about what i wanted went over detailing and went through a few iterations of the sewing before deciding I will definitely go back only drawback is tike of course walk ins are encouraged but it get really busy rather quickly and you can expect to wait for hours if they set up more appointments i’d definitely give it 5 stars

My girlfriend paid a "deposit" for a tattoo that her and her friend were getting. The artist wasn't drawing what they were looking for and so they told the store they were not going to go through with the tattoo. They are now telling her that the "deposit is non refundable" with no prior knowledge of this and had not notified her anywhere that was the case my girlfriend is out $80 for the deposit of 2 tattoos. If you're going here make sure you get the right person before you waste your money for them to just say "have a nice day" and close the shop if the owner could contact me or her from this post that would be great.

Have had several tattoos by Brett, an artist at Union Ave Tattoo, clean work. Good customer service and all around great guy, Steve the owner is a great personality both hard working individuals and willing to work with anyone.

It was my first time getting a tattoo (a tiny little pine tree roughly the size of a quarter) and they made the experience horrible. They were super rude to me and my friend when we didn't like what he was drawing (he wasn't drawing anything close to what we were asking for) so we decided to just take are money elsewhere which is when they told us "the deposits non-refundable sorry if no one told you" being frustrated me and my friend decided to leave. After deciding we didn't want to be out 80$ we came back in the next day to get totally new tattoos this time he was being nice to me but very rude to my friend and calling her demeaning names like "sweetheart" when she tried telling him he was charging to much for the tattoos. In the end we spent 200$ total for two tiny all black tattoos that everyone tells us we were stupid paying for (and these are people with tons of tattoos mind you). I understand we should've been more firm with not paying that much but it being my first tattoo and my friends second they tried making us feel like we were stupid and just trying to be cheap and bargain with them. I DO NOT recommend coming here

Best tattoo shop in Washington! Veteran owned and ran which means they hold themselves to a higher standard. The ink I had done at this shop is hands down the best tattoo I have ever had done and most complimented. I highly reccomend Q and his shop and I can't wait to go back and get some more ink done.

Q is hands down the best artist in the Tacoma area. he's personally done 7 pieces for me to include a sleeve. I wouldn't go to any other shop even if the work was free. You want a tattoo that not only looks good but last, hit up Union Ave Tattoo.

I have nothing less than amazing things to say about Q! His work is flawless and makes your experience from start to finish so smooth. I cannot wait to come back in the near future to continue working on my leg piece :)
