I have gotten all of my tattoos done here and one peircing. I couldn't ask for a better environment. So comfortable and clean. Everyone makes you feel welcomed and when you are getting work done they are always willing to talk to you to get your mind off of it (which I enjoy!!) I tell everyone I meet to visit Stay Gold for tattoos and piercings

I do not recommend this shop if Scott is your artist or consulting artist. He was very unprofessional and ultimately swayed us to leave and look for another tattoo studio with his poor attitude.
I can only speak anecdotally about our visit, but we left extremely dissatisfied after speaking with Scott for roughly 10 minutes.
If you do go, I highly recommend Justin or Basil, who we spoke with on previous planning sessions and were helpful. It's a shame Scott was the person in charge on the day we decided to schedule a tattoo.
We left and went to Classic 13 Tattoo who was super helpful and gave us the service and tattoo we were looking for. Highly recommend Classic 13 if you have the same experience we did.

Great, clean environment..super nice staff!! I've had 2 tattoos by Jacob and I've always been pleased with his work!!! I'd definitely recommend giving them a call if you're interested in getting a tattoo or piercing!!

I've been coming to Jacob Brewer for my tattoos since I was 18. Great artist and a good guy. Every artist at this shop is professional, courteous, and excellent at their craft. I can think of no better tattoo parlor in the Birmingham area to visit other than Stay Gold tattoo.

Every time I get any work done here EVERY employee is awesome. I've had the pleasure of Ricky doing some amazing work on my arms and leg! I've brought my mother, sister, friends and boyfriend in to get tattoos as well! Awesome environment! 🤘🏻❤️

UPDATE: Several months ago after posting thjs reveiw the owner messaged me on face book and appoligized for the experience I had. I appreciated the appology and professional he was in his message. My sister in law visited the shop yeasterday and received a beautiful tattoo and everyone had a wonderful experience.
I got a tattoo here back in November (my first tattoo) and it was a terrible experience! The guy who I presume owns the shop was extremely rude, and used vulgar language. I got a small tattoo, and they charged me $50, I was reluctant if I still wanted to get it but the man rushed me and told me they already drew up the picture and he was gonna be mad if I made him waste paper. His trainee admitted to being under the influence and was the one who placed my tattoo, and when the man finally got In to do my tattoo he seemed irritated with me for asking questions and being nervous (once again it was my first tattoo). The placement was wrong and crooked but I was so uncomfortable and afraid to correct him, the healing process took 2 weeks, but several place on the tattoo is SCAR tissue. It was a awful experience and I would never recommend this parlor to anyone!
