We absolutely love Mike and Laura Naylor at Monarch Tattoo. This is my husbandโs and I second tattoo from Monarch Tattoo, and we are extremely happy with them. They are true artist that have creative and unique designs. Everything is extremely clean. We are from Wyoming and will definitely come back to Hawaii just to get tattoos at Monarch Tattoo.

Wrong fill in on tattoo done (opposite of drawing). Not centered. Not sure if the haole guy was drunk or high when he tattooed me but lines look shakey and who fills in the opposite of what was pictured?!! Charged me $400 for 1hr of actual tattooing on a design that was mostly lines and very little ink fill. Not very skilled imo. Maybe da wahine better but idk I wouldnโt trust

It was a last minute decision, but they got in. Mike did an amazing job on my tattoo I couldn't have asked for anything better. His lines are phenomenal and all precision work can't be beat. Thank you Monarch for this great experience, I will definitely be back.

My daughter sent me Aikaโs instagram link, I wanted to get a Polynesian style tattoo while we were visiting Oโahu. She told me that Aika is starting out and needs to build up her portfolio. I messaged her several times before we got there and set up a time. She freehand drew this design and and I liked it. She proceeded to freehand draw the tattoo on my arm with a sharpie. Let me tell you this girl is amazing. After she had it drawn on my arm she started with the tattoo. As you a can see from the finished tattoo, she is very talented.
If you are looking to get a Tattoo, go and find her. Donโt even look for anyone else, she is very talented. I plan on coming back and when I do I will have an appointment with her to do more work. She is very nice and sweet.

I traveled to Hawaii for a friends wedding and wanted to get my first tattoo while I was on the island. Monarch Tattoo was the perfect shop for me. Owned by Mike and Laura Naylor, this custom shop is clean and has a great vibe. I gave Mike some ideas and told him I wanted his view and his creative look on my idea. He did an awesome job and I would recommend this studio to anyone and everyone who is looking for a great artist(s) on Oahu. I would even make the 4,500 mile trek again just to go get another piece from Mike. On top of that, a friend of mine, who I was traveling with, decided to get their first tattoo and Laura made her an appointment last minute. Truly a great experience. Thank you Mike and Laura, Monarch Tattoo Studio, on the North Shore of Oahu, was a hands down AWESOME experience.

Absolutely LOVE my tattoo Laura did for me....far exceeded my expectations. She was easy to work with and I appreciate her creativity. She gave good advice about design, colors, etc. While I didn't talk much during the process, Laura and her husband are super nice, very friendly and hands down will be seeing them again for future. Shop is located right across from the water... I was trying to stay in my "happy place" so it was a great view to get lost in while ignoring the needle in my shoulder and back lol!
