If you want high quality work from some down to earth artists you need to check out Papa Joe's. Excellent atmosphere, great music selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff,walk-ins welcome and Joe's expertise in cover up work is second to none. If nothing else come check out the signs people.

Husband and I came to idaho from out of state and wanted to get tattoos. Called to see if they could get us in for matching quote tattoos and we had them 2 hours later.
When we come back to boise that will definitely be the shop we go back too :)

These are some of the most talented artists in Boise and the whole state of Idaho. I haven't seen line work this great on many others bodies. I recommend them to family friends and anyone completely new. I have three already from both Joe and Drew and they're perfect. I doubt anyone could ever be dissatisfied!

Dru was awesome!! Quick response even on Christmas Eve evening. Dru's humor helped to relax my 16 year old daughter who was excited, yet a bit nervous. We called ahead coming from Oregon and we were an hour late. They were so friendly and gave the best costumer service ever!! I would definately make the drive again. My daughter and I will definately be recommending Papa Joe's to all.

He is the best traditional tattoo artist in the valley. Also is really good sign painter. Papa Joe has done most of my work. I'll keep goin back there for anymore tattoos I want done.

Went into the shop feeling important but as time went by, the artist was multitasking with other artists, needed smoke breaks and wasn’t that great at customer service. If you’re looking for a tattoo of words. I don’t recommend. My sisters and I asked for a tattoo of words from our aunt and he butchered her hand writing and over tattooed areas. Upset it turned out crappy

Please NEVER go to this shop for a tattoo. I called several days ago to set up an appointment for 7 PM, and was told that so far there were no other appointments for the day. After showing up around 6:30, we were told that it was going to be an extra hour of waiting so he could finish with another group, then we came back in at 7:30 and he was still working with the same group. Once he was finally finished with them an hour later, we still waited until almost midnight for our stencils to be ready (we had called and set the appointment for 3 people) and then once he begun on the first tattoo, there were many mistakes and it was almost 1:30 in the morning by the time he was done with only the first one. He also claimed the mistakes were made because my friend had "difficult skin to work with". I would rank this shop lower if I could. Please DO NOT ever go to this shop, even if you call ahead you will still wait for hours and leave with something you didn't want or ask for.
