We are not your average tattoo shop…Speakeasy is an Appointment Only custom tattoo shop, designed not only to be a highly functional, clean work environment, but also to have a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that puts both the Artists and Clients at ease. We want your experience to be as memorable as the piece of art you leave with. All of our artists do their own appointments and most have a wait to get in so please be patient with wait and response times. If you want to rush in to a tattoo, this may not be the shop for you. We do mainly larger custom tattoos at Speakeasy."

Wow!!! Where do I start. Definitely go here!! Patrick is an amazing tattoo artist!! 😊 The place is clean it seems sterilized. Patrick was the artist who did my tattoo! He’s amazing!! I’m so so so happy with my tattoo. I wish I knew how to insert the photo of my tattoo.
My tattoo is my baby KiKi, she passed away on November 19, 2019. It’s been a very hard year for me without her. 😪
Now, I have her with me all the time!!! He did a magnificent job on the details. He was very courteous and kept asking if I was ok or wanted anything.
I had a really nice experience with them!!! Patrick was an amazing tattoo artist!
I thank Patrick so much for my tattoo, I’m just so excited and words cannot express my satisfaction with he’s work! God bless you Patrick!!😇

I drove 2 and half hours yesterday to get a cover up done. I was super nervous about the pain and worried I might get light headed. The person who took all my info and my artist Zen were so amazing. They both were real easy to talk to and helped me feel relaxed and comfortable. The shop is very spacious and clean. The staff is super nice and friendly, a couple of the other artists stopped and complimented the work.
It was so worth the time, drive, and cost. I love my tattoo and pain was minimal. I hope to be back to see Zen again sooner than later.

First off I’d like to thank Brigitta Mathe for my awesome tattoo. Also, Speakeasy Custom Tattoo for hiring Ms. Mathe. She was professional and down to earth. Her work is phenomenal . This girl is going to be going places. Speakeasy Custom tattoo staff was great. It was well lit and clean. I liked that the owner came around and looked at everyone getting tattoos. I enjoyed communicating through email to setup my consultation, give ideas and set appointments.

Speakeasy is a super clean, spacious, friendly shop to visit. Every artist I've come across is welcoming, and the whole crew there makes you feel at home. I've been working with Patrick for nearly 15 years and wouldn't have it any other way. He takes your ideas and collaborates to create something that is always amazing. I've had nearly 20 hours of floral work done by him, and from the most recent pieces to ones that are 10+ years old I continue to get compliments all the time from people wanting to know where I go for tattoos. The team at Speakeasy makes sure you're comfortable from the start, whether it's the initial consult and sharing ideas, to your time getting worked on - the attention is really on making sure you are getting just what you want from the experience. Beyond the quality of the work, it's a comfortable place - great conversation, solid music selection and a never ending supply of fizzy water - I'd recommend Speakeasy to anyone without hesitation. Shout out to Kelly for all the coordination and gorgeous shop decor. You all are truly the best!

Very friendly staff, super clean and comfortable environment. I just had done a 3/4 sleeve during a 7 hour session. Memo (tattoo artist) is really great to work with, super honest and straightforward and laid back. He made the whole experience very easy, with plenty of advice on placement and style, and breaks during the tattoo session. If anyone in the Chicago area is thinking about a new tattoo, I would highly recommend this studio, and Memo as well
