Expensive Bad Location Disappointed Wrong Design Not Listened to Settled

Don't get me wrong the work is nice but I am disappointed in the design and location and kind of regret getting it tbh... When i think of a close to $500 tattoo i don't think of what I got at all and it isn't even what I really wanted, I sent in references and hours before I came and when i got there the artist was drawing up something completely different even though i designed my tattoo myself and made it clear that I loved my sketch just wanted better details, my design was changed and i was told that what I wanted wasn't technically correct but I didn't care about that i wanted what i wanted.. Its my skin, after an hour of going back and forth on the design the shop owner came and made it clear that that was $100 so I ended up settling and really left disappointed, I will have to pay someone else to get more of something I like... Great artist, but should definitely listen to what the customer wants more, not his own opinion... It just looks like my kids put stickers on my back, it doesn't even come together as 1 tattoo, will NOT be visiting again πŸ˜‘ posted what I got vs what i wanted

unprofessional poor communication waste of time and money

On January 2nd I came across Nathan Adlers tattoo page and instantly fell inlove with his work. I had been searching for a tattoo artist who specializes in photorealism for over a year. I messaged him on Facebook immediately. He responded to my message on January 5th and told me he wanted to work with me. He sent me a link and told me to book online. I booked immediately. I was emailed my confirmation for Saturday January 18th, 5:30pm.
January 18th, 5:05pm. I arrive to splash of ink. absolutely no cars in the parking lot. I’m early. I’ll wait. 5:21 β€” I message adlertattoos. I start calling the number listed on the business sign outside the shop. Then find multiple numbers listed online for Splash of Ink β€” collectively I called at least 4 different phone numbers associated with the business. Nothing. No answer. One of them was a personal cell not associated with the business at all and the other was a taxi service. I start to panic. So I start messaging other artist who work at the shop including the owner himself. No response. I end up waiting in the parking lot for over 2 hours. During his time, THREE different clients show up for their consultation with Nathan as well. Luckily, one of the clients had a personal connection to Nathan who proceeds to tell us they are half way to Gatlinburg, TN.
I drove over 10 hours round trip, and put over 600 miles on my car to come meet Nathan. I made all the necessary steps on my end as the client that I needed to do. He didn’t even have the decency nor the common curtesy to take 30 seconds to message me that he had to cancel / reschedule our appointment. As well as the other 3 people who showed up for their appointment too.
My friend who was with me, posted a review explaining what had happened to us. Within seconds the owner privately messaged my friend asking her to remove her post. He still has yet to reach out to me. And when Nathan finally reached out he expected me to drop my deposit in the drop box and just leave. To put a down payment on a service I didn’t even receive. So what? I can drive another 5 hours again β€” to show up and have the same thing happen? The professionalism I was shown tonight was absolutely zero. It is VERY clear that the owner and Nathan care highly about image, but very little about their clients. They obviously did not care about me at all. Which is unfortunate because I was more than willing to put in the time and money to make multiple trips to Splash of Ink. I am beyond disappointed. There is no excuse for not notifying your clients that you can’t make their appointments. The point of this review is really to help this artist and this business do better. what I went though, for lack of better words, absolutely sucked. It was a terrible experience β€” and one that should have never happened. It would have been nice if the owner would have reached out to me and apologized for the way his tenants do business. & it would have been nice if Nathan would have told me he wanted to do SOMETHING. Literally anything to help compensate for everything I just lost. Time. Money. Energy. Trip preparation. PTO from work. We’re all human and accidents happen. But as a business professional you have to take ownership when you do screw up. You should at least try to make your wrongs right. I truly hope that this never happens again to any future clients.

Quality work Chill environment Sterile Good conversation Recommended

Yaaaaas this is the place to go for quality work and a chill and fun environment. Everything is always sterile and you can always find good conversation even when you're there for 8 hours. 10/10 would recommend
