Chameleon Tattoo & Body Piercing

When I first walked in I was greeted bye the receptionist who was very friendly. I chose my earings and then the person who was doing the piercing, in my case Owen, Told me to come in. I was nervous but he was very nice and had a good vibe. he was all about consent and made sure I was prepared for anything he did, how much it hurt, what he was about to do etc... The actual piercing of the ear was very quick and almost painless. After that, he made sure I knew how to take care of them for the following months. Would go again.

Owen is such a superstar that I had to leave a review even though I rarely do. So kind, helped me with a "problem piercing" I had gotten with another piercer, and answered my million questions with ease. He's a stand-up guy and amazing professional who's helped me with multiple issues over the years! Thank you all for being such a great spot

Best piercing experience I’ve ever had! Grey and the staff were extremely welcoming, kind, sanitary, and patient. I was particularly concerned with the placement of my piercing and had a lot of questions. Grey talked me through all of my options and explained every step of the process before it happened. Everyone there is a true pro. I’d recommend Chameleon to anyone!

I just had the worst experience here. I went to the shop inquire about a tattoo and if it was eligible for a walk in appointment. When I arrived the micro aggression that I received was ridiculous. The receptionist barely greeted me and would only talk to me through the cracked door with his arms folded. Every question I asked him was given a swift response of we don’t do the type of tattoos you want here maybe try a “street shop”. He then switched his response to my questions to “it’s up to the artist discretion”. When I asked was it possible to speak to an artist I was told no one had time to speak with me although I saw multiple artist not serving clients at the moment. It’s is very disheartening to receive this type of treatment especially being a black woman living in the suburbs of Boston. If you are a Black person avoid this place.

I have been going to the Chameleon to get pierced since 2000. An amazing jewelry selection with very knowledgable and personable staff! Owen and Darcy are the piercers on staff and I wouldn't trust anyone else. They are the best — calm, knowledge and always happy to chat about what you'd like to do. Appointments can only be made in person; a bit challenging for those who don't live near but well worth the extra work to be pierced by those who have worked in the industry and know it inside and out. Also the Harvard Square location is super cool — lots of fun places to eat and walk around.

Cannot recommend this place enough! the staff was so welcoming and helpful throughout the process and I was nothing but comfortable before, during, and after my tattoo.

I went for my second time yesterday and WOW the place and its artists only got better. Midori is amazing and she turned a tattoo template I sent her into my dream tattoo LOVE this place

I got my first tattoo there, the tattoo artists are very gentle and friendly, everyone got different and special tattoos. The store is clean and simple. If you wanna tattoo, visit here. You will get something to surprise you. Btw, Harvard University around there, and some interesting stores you can visit.

Our 6 year old had her ears pierced here with Owen. What an amazing experience! We love their philosophy of education and consent. We all learned a lot and know we made the best decision to get pierced here!

Love love love this place! I have gotten all of my tattoos from the past five or so years here, either from Markus or Dice. It's always been so clean, even pre COVID. The people working the front desk are always fun to chat to, and so friendly. I can't emphasize enough how much I've loved getting tattooed by both Markus and Dice. They are interesting to talk to, friendly, and just overall killer artists. I get compliments on their work all the damn time. From a cost perspective, I always feel like I'm paying a fair price for the incredible art I'm getting. Cannot emphasize enough how much I love this shop!

I had my nipples pierced by James and he was so, so, so kind and professional. The other two employees (I forget their names, apologies) were also very nice! I think everyone could tell I was nervous about these piercings and they made a clear effort to talk to me, make me comfortable, and reassure me that if I ever needed anything in the future/had any questions, they'd be happy to help. Such great people, a clean, professional environment, and I love my new piercings! Thank you!
