"Hello, During the summer it is best to book a tattoo appointment by calling 231 436 6033 at noon the day you would like to get your tattoo. I messaged them between July 12 and 13th. They stated they could get us in on a walk in list. We went there on Friday to make sure we were on the list which we were not. The guy added us 2nd in the list because they forgot to add us in. Messaged them through out the day they said they could get us in around supper time. No response I messaged them again and they said they ran out of time. I wouldn't have drove 8 hours to meet with a friend so we could get matching tattoos. I would have picked someone else to go had they told us it was no guarantee. I have go to few different walk in tattoo parlors and have never had this issue. They need to work in their honesty as a business of what they can do or can't do.

We were on a girls trip the UP and I had promised my niece I would get a tattoo with her before she went to college. After trying a few places and finding everyone only taking appointments and no walk-ins, we almost gave up. We decided to look for a place in Mackinaw on our last day before heading back down. We called Mackinaw Tattoo and were greeted by a very friendly lady who gave us the most excellent news: they take walk-ins and are open at noon. In the hours before our arrival, we talked the other two in to getting tattoos as well, so now we needed 4! We got there around 12:15 and they already had people on the waiting list for the day. We jumped on as well, and after a few stores and some pizza, we got the call it was our turn. We had a newbie with us and Josh had been the artist there when we first arrived. He handled her nerves superbly and worked on a design she would love. He did two great memorable script tattoos for my niece and I, then a sweet small one for my Mom. He was great at maintaining rapport, keeping us going and making us feel very welcome. While we were taking turns getting tatted up, my niece had her rook pierced by Mike and she talked me into getting my nose pierced. Mike was super professional, kept it simple and easy and made me feel at ease before and after my nose piercing. Great service, friendly and comfortable atmosphere. I will surely be back to this place!

Came from another country to get matching tattoos with a good friend of mine who had called ahead to make sure we could get one...stopped in the day before and found out they hadn't even put us on the list got added as second appointment and told to wait for a call anytime after 12pm so we couldn't plan anything much else then to do while we waited...messaged after 3pm got told around dinner and then got told they couldn't take us after 9pm only because we messaged them...turned a fun vacation into a depressing end...and the bonus of them blocking contact because they got told it wasn't good customer service is pretty petty.

Josh was amazing to work with. He made excellent recommendations, put up with all our questions, and made us laugh. This was my first tattoo and he explained everything well. We picked this shop based on the location of our girls weekend away, but I would gladly drive the 3 hours back here to have another done!
