Both of the artists never show up on time. Takes them hours before they finally start to tattoo your skin and they constantly take smoke breaks in between. Talks only about their life problems the entire session. A 2 hour tattoo turns into a 4 hour tattoo just so they can milk you for your money. Definitely wouldn’t recommend going to get tattooed at this location.

I appreciated the ease of scheduling an appointment via FB messenger. Brandon is down to earth, professional and very talented. I've been to other tattoo studios where the environment is really loud and not very comfortable. This is not the case at Beyond the chair Tattoo in Shelby Township. Brandon gave me suggestions on tattoo placement/angle of design and I'm glad I took his advice. I recommend this artist and business and will be a returning customer.

Amanda is amazing! I had a shoulder piece done by her and it turned out perfectly. She is reasonably priced and was very easy to communicate with about what I wanted and super easy to chat with during the actual tattooing. The shop is super clean and I felt very comfortable there. They are taking all the proper COVID precautions. After shopping around and chatting with various artists, visiting various shops etc i have to say I felt the most welcome and comfortable at this one. I will definitely be back here for my next pieces!! Thanks again!!!

I got my first tattoo by Brandon. It was such a great experience. I was very nervous, but wasn't left with a reason to be anymore. I have recommended Beyond the Chair to a few friends too! I will definitely be coming back for other tattoos I may get.

If you are reading this review, it’s a sign to get a tattoo from Amanda or Brandon. My father had passed from Covid 11/30 & we finally had my sister in town. We wanted to get something for our dad. I had virgin skin but also some not so great experience with flakey artist. Amanda & Brandon took me in and made me feel so comfortable. The best part is that because my sister & I are so different having Amanda & Brandon put their own style into our piece matched our personalities. I highly recommend either artist, and I look forward to coming back to both of them for more!

I've been recommending this shop to everyone! I'm on 3/4 appointments with this tattoo and I'm already planning my next piece! Amanda is the best, half the time we're laughing so hard I forget I'm getting tattooed. I've seen a few of Brandon's tattoos go by while I'm sitting for mine and they're equally badass. Tattoo therapy is real and it lives here!! I highly recommend this shop!

Irresponsible staff. You never hear back from anyone whether you leave a general message or are actually dealing with already spoken commitments. Place is also a ghost town with maybe one artist in the building with a client at a time. Tattoo slacker shop without a doubt. Only a matter of time before they go under, I'd be willing to bet.
