Heartland Tattoo

Me and my girlfriend were on a 200$ budget, first off, the first place we went to wanted almost 400$ for the same pieces and same sizes done by our artist, which came out to exactly 200$ here at heartland, our artist jake (assumably as that is the name i saw in his work area) took extra precautions to make us feel as secure as possible (he put privacy barriers up for my girlfriends thigh tattoo which she was very appreciative of as was i) he was fast, very efficent,and checked on our well being through the whole process and made the experience for a first timer and someone whos been tattooed before alike, one to remember, thank you jake for your awesome service and your astonishing work, we will be back soon!

I have been going to this shop for over a year now and most of my work has been done by Rick but I have had work done by 3 of the 4 guys here. They are all incredibly nice and friendly. Several family members and friends have also gotten work done here. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat, and I do. The 1 star review I see on here is not an accurate description of the business. The color of your skin does not matter to any of these four guys. I can promise you that.

Marcus worked his artistic skills in a picture I found. He designed it and added his own spin on the design. It was nice to see an artist doing his work. I would definitely recommend Marcus to anyone wanting a tattoo. Thanks Marcus

Love this place so much. Got 3 amazing tats here. Two from Jake & one from House. Love it so much going back to get a fourth.

Located on Lackland in what might loosely be called downtown Overland (or as I have seen it referred to elsewhere as the land that time forgot...), one might drive right past and not give it a second thought. But if you are in the market for a tattoo, whether it be your first or finishing up your back, I would say that this place is the epitome of a hidden gem.
Check out their website for references material, or bring your own. Either way it's low key, unpretentious, has no interest in appealing to the 'hip' crowd, yet welcoming and comfortable.
I would recommend an appointment set up ahead of time as opposed to a walk in, but I only live about 3/4 of a mile away so it's very convenient for me and easy to get in fairly quickly.
I believe in supporting local businesses whenever possible, and this place deserves a look, especially if you want professional, clean work done by great people.
Highly recommended.

Got my first tattoo here and I gotta say i went in after hearing stories of bad tattoo places but this place was amazing, Marcus did my tattoo and he was gentle and you could tell he knew what he was doing. Definitely coming back for more!

Great place great owners and employees. I have yet to get work done here but every interaction ive had with them has been phenomenal. Rick, molly, and Wally are all fantasic people. I look forward to having work done here.

I went in on October 6th to get a tattoo. Both guys were friendly and helpful from the start. My tattoo artist was Marcus. He listened to me and was also very informative. The place is super clean and my tattoo is perfect.

Wonderful and friendly! Would highly recommend to anyone! Jake did a wonderful job on my grandsons tattoo!
