They have two locations right next to each other that is super convenient. One of the locations was able to get a friend and I in that day. We’re traveling and just wanted a spur of the moment tattoo. They were super accommodating and got us in quickly! Pandora was our artist and she was super friendly and professional. Highly recommend checking out this spot!

I just got my first tattoo by Mandi and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The couple month wait was more than worth it! Mandi was super nice and easy to talk to and has an amazing eye for detail. She made me feel comfortable and was 100% professional the entire time. I am absolutely in love with my tattoo and couldn’t be happier. The studio is also very clean as well! I highly recommend checking out this place!

Great experience! I got my first tattoo here with Derrick and he was very comforting when I voiced my nervousness of my tattoo potentially being painful- it was not. He respected my preferences and drew out a great sketch and tattooed a tribute to my parents on my forearm. The front desk staff, Nadia and Katie, were very welcoming and asked us if we wanted any drinks or snacks during our short wait. Thanks Canvas!

I spent months researching and choosing an artist. I called to book a consult, and it took 4 months to get in. I expected this since they are a reputable place. When I arrived for the consult, I was told the artist I was supposed to see left the studio. She was supposed to notify all of her clients but didn’t. They fit me in with someone else, and the consult was all of 2 minutes. I booked my tattoo for the following week. When I arrived, the artist hadn’t drawn anything up. Even though I sent examples and specific instructions, he didn’t understand what I wanted. Shouldn’t this have been discussed at the consult? He drew the design quickly and because I was frustrated by the poor communication and seemingly unprepared artist, I overlooked two important details when I approved the tattoo. Part of the tattoo is backwards and another part is missing. Overall, I’m upset with my first tattoo experience. It was stressful and the end result is fine but not exactly what I wanted. I feel like it is my fault because I gave approval on the final design.

I would be remiss if I didn’t give the artist credit for the quality of his work! The tattoo is pristine! Anyone looking at it without knowledge of the design specifics would see a perfect tattoo! My rating is due to the experience and design flaws, not the artist’s tattoo skills. I would go to this artist again (assuming he didn’t leave without notification) and would be more direct about what I expect during the consult. Maybe this is how all studios are? Since this was my first tattoo experience, I have no frame of reference for comparison.

The same thing happened to my husband the following month with a different artist at their studio. The artist left, and we weren’t told until we arrived for the consult. My husband chose to look for another studio.

Joey did my first ever tattoo, it was small and simple but he took the time to make me feel like it was still a big deal to him too. Still felt like he was creating art on me. He was very knowledgeable about the whole process and I was super comfortable and confident that I would get exactly what I was expecting…which I did! Already planning the next one…

Fantastic experience at Canvas. Had a great consultation with Michael Barnhill that translated into a seamless session to complete my tattoo. Michael was easy to work with and built upon the idea that I brought to him. The studio is clean and the people are great. Would highly recommend Canvas to anyone looking to get tattooed.

Friendly atmosphere, clean studio. All artists seemed to do really good work, we had guest artist Felipe who was very nice and did a great job. While our tattoos were very simple, I did see his work and it was incredible... just as the other artists here who were working on pieces for customers. Will be back when in Charlotte again!

Wow!!! 19 years since my last tattoo and OMG Joey was awesome to work with. He helped finalize the design and had several sizes prepared before I arrived. The finished product is still ‘under wraps’; but I am already in love with it!! The shop was immaculate, all safety protocols were followed and I felt at home there.

And I’ve been back!! Shaun is one of the ‘newer’ artists at this location; but I was blown away by the work he has done prior and selected him to do my work. Not only am I floored by how the finished piece looks; when others asked for long I sat; etc they are blown away with how fast he did the work. When I get the inspiration for another piece; I will be heading back to Canvas Tattoo for a 3rd time. No question there at all.

Both my wife and I met with Shaun at the shop and talked through our designs (hers was a memorial tat, mine was a traditional design). Shaun had great ideas for both of us and we ended up with great tattoos. The shop is great, the staff is awesome, we'd both come back again for sure.

Had an amazing experience with Shaun in getting my first tattoo. He made it really easy and fun to do and work with I enjoyed my time at Canvas Tattoo with all the other artist and people there great environment and artist. Hit up my man Shaun for an amazing tattoo!!!
