I’ve traveled the world and have had work done in many different places. This is my favorite. Julie is the best I’ve found I’m my years of getting tattooed. The environment is relaxing and makes the time pass quickly. If you can get a Julie Juice tattoo you are lucky.

I could not recommend this place more highly. Rachel (insta @rmachinistart) did a beautiful tattoo for me of a spray of leaves. This was my fifth tattoo, and definitely my favorite experience. Her "bedside manner" was very relaxing and the artwork turned out absolutely beautifully. She let me know that she does a free touch up on her work, which came in handy because as my tattoo healed, some of the leaves faded slightly (not unexpected!). Knowing that I had a free touch up was very comforting and relieved a lot of anxiety; with other tattooists, I've had to try to chase them down for a touch up for six months before giving up and going to a different artist. Rachel was immediately responsive to email, and we scheduled something for as soon as the skin would be healed enough. Her professionalism and dedication to artistry were just as evident during the free touch up as during the first paid session. I appreciate that kind of commitment to her work so much; it was evident that what mattered to her was that I ended up with a tattoo that I was extremely happy with. And I did! I am thrilled with the experience at both sessions as well as the final result. The work is clean and crisp and beautiful, and Rachel was exactly the kind of artist that I look forward to working with again in the future.

With timing not working out correctly, they appropriately accommodated our strict schedule. me and my girlfriend both got tattoo’d by jamie ( @strawberryjamtattoo on instagram ) and were greatly impressed by her professionalism, yet laid back vibe with us. she held a conversation the whole time about things that related to our age group and made the atmosphere a very comfortable, clean, and relaxed place to be tattoo’d. Jamie’s line work is top of the line and i’m amazed at her skill and learning in the short time she’s been tattooing clients. me and my girlfriend both will be going back to her, as well as referring our friends to her for their tattoo services as well. Thank you very much Jamie!

Clean comfortable studio right on Carson Street near the SouthSide Works. I could feel good energy when I first walked in.
I can only speak to Rachel's tattoos, but I would certainly go back for another one -- in fact, I have and am planning yet one more before I move from Pittsburgh. Her focus on giving great tattoos does not only pertain to the artwork but also was one of the best personalities. She did a wonderful job fixing up a rookie friend's stick-n-poke "dot-bracelet" and helped me design three more bracelets... I am so happy; it all looks really great together.
From what I can see, the other artists are all of a better echelon from what I could witness as well as from the other reviews I have read.

Ice 9 is by far the most professional yet laid back experience you could have! I’ve gone to Jamie (strawberry jam tattoo) twice now and she is the nicest, most welcoming, and talented artist I have ever been with. She takes your idea and makes it reality. The shop is a fun environment and the artists are always complimenting each other’s work and making you feel great as it’s getting done!
