Soo, this place loves to steal tattoo designs from other artists, so if you plan on going here, don’t. Classically featuring their “love fest” is work done by a completely different tattoo shop, and taken without their permission. Their lining is awful, too. I’d run far from here.

Can’t recommend Wes Bird tattoo enough! He’s such an affirming artist and has an incredibly gentle hand and calm presence. He did a freehand cover up on my inner wrist and the way he added depth instead of just blacking it out was so innovative. Blew my mind. Thank you Wes!

Retrocade Tattoo is a prime location if you are in search of quality body art. Wes, the artist who I worked with, is as kind as he is a very skilled artist; he communicated well in the booking and design phase and worked magic to design and ink a beautifully detailed and expertly colored and shaded flower on my left forearm. His various works can be seen posted on Instagram or in physical/original form on the walls around the establishment and are a testament to his degree of accomplishment as an artist. Thank you Wes! Located central to San Luis Obispo and in addition to tattoo service, offers arcade games, music (sometimes live), and vends trendy clothing and accessories, as well. Stop on in and express yourself! Tattoo infected!! I really enjoyed coming to the shop, the atmosphere & people were fantastic… but I tattoo as-well, and never have i seen a tattoo get infected like this. I appreciate the vibes but ouch, photos outline healing from a few days to 2 weeks after. i’d come again, but maybe not for another tattoo

Great work! Great vibe! Great artists and people! They sell local art which is so cool. My buddy is young and nowhere takes him seriously but retrocade was happy to feature him and “give him a chance” to get his work out into the community. They are all about community here. Retrocade is creating a cool culture here in slo. Don’t be intimidated. They are so nice and willing to help out young new artists. The black light arcade feels like you’re in a club. They have rad tunes playing or the owner plays his banjo and guitar! Only complaint is I wish it was bigger!
