A Dead Anchor Tattoo & Body Piercing

I have been looking for an artist in the madison area and have not had any luck loving the tattoos I was getting, until I found Ty. I submitted the consultation form and was followed up with the next day. I can not speak enough to how precise and caring Ty was with her work. I love what she was able to do to my existing piece. She turned something I was frustrated about into something beautiful. I have found my artist and I cannot recommend her enough!!

Do not go here. He thinks he's so good he can charge $500 an hour.

I received my first tattoo from A Dead Anchor Tattoo and Body Piercing Parlor on 04Aug2022. I consulted with the artist Tyranicorn/Brittany. This review captures my experience in detail. However, I would say if the residents artists do your desired tattoo style, definitely go here. Wonderful service, environment, customer safety, and knowledgeable staff. When researching a tattoo I found this parlor on google. I reviewed the artists work and reached out to Tyranicorn. Her website was clear on what she liked to do and wouldn't do, this was really helpful for me as I am new to the tattoo process. I filled out a consultation form and was promptly followed up with. The artist was professional, detail oriented, and very, very compassionate as my tattoo was a very personal thing for me. When I arrived for the appointment I had no issue finding the parlor when using the instructions on the sites FAQ. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. Ty then spent about 25 minutes sorting out paperwork, reviewing the tattoo in detail again to make sure I was comfortable and talking me through each step of the process so I understood why she was doing what she was doing and how it helped her or myself in the process. I found this incredibly professional and helpful as I ask a lot of questions and some professionals do not like to be questioned. Ty was super patient with me. Brandon, the owner and other artist happened to be in the studio also. He greeted me as well and he and the person he was tattooing were also reassuring about the first time. It was a very relaxed environment set up to be comfortable for the employees and customers. There was a big emphasis on safety, contamination control, and covid conscientious practices enforced. When the tattoo was completed (an awesome experience) I was talked through the process, then walked through aftercare instructions thoroughly. Got a tattoo from Gob B or Goby, whatever his name is, and it had so many imperfections. You can’t even read the words and the lines are faded away. This was about 2-3 years ago. Now I have an ugly tattoo on my wrist

The artists were rude and didn't want to help at all. The skull guy in particular had a very "too good for you" attitude. Drive up in your Tesla and bring caviar and you won't have any problems

A Dead Anchor Tattoo has been my go-to tattoo place for years. When I first discovered them back in 2015, I knew I had found some of the most friendly, down to earth people around. Brandon is an amazing artist, and I have 3 pretty large pieces by him that I wouldn’t trade for the world. He makes the whole “getting a tattoo” experience fun and well worth a pretty penny. We can sit there and talk for hours about anything, and be laughing, having fun, and bantering the entire time! The shop is always clean, and organized. 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking for that beautifully worked half sleeve or even a full arm sleeve if you’re brave enough!! 😝 Or, if you haven’t fully decided on what you want yet, he’ll sit down with you and come up with the best design and placement, and you’ll walk away with a phenomenal piece of art you can wear forever!

Worst tattoo experience I've had so far. The artist (Brandon) overworked the black areas and have scars now due to the lack of care with my arm. Artist also talked constantly and didn't pay attention to what he was doing. Didn't get my money's worth along with a poorly executed tattoo.

If you're looking for a larger custom piece you owe it to yourself to check these guys out. I filled out the online consult form with a general idea of what I wanted and Brandon came up with a tattoo that I'm extremely proud of. My sits were the best experiences I have had getting a tattoo both Brandon and Lady B are fun, social and talented as hell!

My wife has been a patron of A Dead Anchor, long before their current version came to fruition. As a result I knew where I'd be going when I finally took the jump to get a second tattoo. My first experience on my 18th birthday (at a vastly different shop) left me feeling uneasy. I took the jump, and I couldn't be happier. The staff is amazing, the artists care about their clients, and the ink stays how it was meant to be. I have referred family, friends, and random strangers to this shop, and I know that every single one of them was treated like family. Thanks Brandon, and everyone else for building such an epic tattoo shop.

I went here for my first ever tattoo! Brandon was really fun to work with and created a beautiful custom tattoo for me. I love it and will absolutely go back. I recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo. The atmosphere was very fun and all of the artists made the experience pleasant.
