Black Sparrow Tattoo Studio - Moncks Corner

I got an amazing phoenix back piece to cover up and old tattoo from KC Williams....I went to several different shops and no one could figure out how to do my cover up, or they just didn't want to because it was a very difficult piece. Not only did Kc take on that challenge....he showed me a different phoenix that I feel in love with....he exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be more pleased....My experience was amazing ..hell yeah it hurt, but he was so easy on the skin that the pain was bearable....looking forward to getting more work done from him real soon!!!

I scheduled an appointment with KC on March 19th for April 10th. I paid him a $100 deposit in cash and was not given any other information except for the date and time.

I ended up having to cancel my appointment. I called the shop phone number listed on Google on 3 separate occasions and left voicemails. I also messaged the owner on Instagram 2 times on March 27th and April 9th regarding canceling my appointment. I never received a phone call, message or any sort of response saying that he had seen my messages. I never received any confirmation messages or information on if the deposit was refundable. (For reference, I sent a message to cancel my appointment 15 days prior to the scheduled date.)

KC has done 3 of my tattoos that have turned out great and they have always been very friendly in the shop, so I was very disappointed when I saw the lack of professionalism in returning phone calls and messages.

I had an awesome experience! KC is such a humble and respectful guy. Couldn't ask for a better artist. Very good customer service and creativity. Definitely will be bringing my business here from now on. Welcome to Moncks Corner Black Sparrow!

Black Sparrow is awesome. The shop is clean and comfortable and KC is an amazing artist. He did a coverup for me without even using a stencil and it turned out so great. I have been back 3 times since then and will continue to see him for all of my artwork!

Jose absolutely exceeded my expectations on this tattoo! The shop is dope, staff is super friendly & their pup is adorable. Highly recommend & will definitely be back again!

Just got my first tattoo from Black Sparrow and I’m absolutely in LOVE. So much time, patience, and detail put into every piece they do. My favorite tattoo out of all the ones I have. Definitely check them out! First tattoo or not, you’ll love their artists and the atmosphere.

Don't get me wrong I love my tattoo, but I was less than thrilled with my experience with Black Sparrow Tattoo shop, Isaiah or KC. When I arrived for my initial appt with Isaiah he wasn't prepared and I sat around for 2-3hrs. When my friend who had come along with me said something to the shop owner. He pulled me aside and reassured me that things would go well and that we could start the tattoo but that we wouldn't get as much done on it because it was so let. I agreed to stay and let Isaiah do the work. I left the shop happy with the start of a beautiful tattoo but feel as though my time was not valued. I went back in about a month later to have my tattoo finished up. The second visit with Isaiah was better. He told me to call and come back in about a month later and that we could touch up if neccessary. When I called to schedule that appt I was told that Isaiah no longer worked there. No big deal, I agreed to swing by in person and let KC take a look at how the tattoo was healing. He wanted me to come back, so I scheduled an appt for a month out. I received a voicemail the day prior to remind me of my appt. The day off my tattoo I drive 45mins from my home. Only to arrive to a shop that has locked doors and that the lights are off. I try to call the business phone with no response. The next day I get a FB message apologizing to me and letting me know how it was all a misunderstanding and telling me that they will call me and we will get this all worked out. Well here we are 4-5 days later and I still haven't received that call. I will not be returning to this shop nor will I be reccomending it to any of my friends.

I had explained my long thought out and carefully planned tattoo to KC, it seemed he understood. when I went back a month later to explain my unhappiness, he told me all he had to do to make this over inked and muddy thing on my arm look 3d and life like was put some white in it. Still willing to allow him to save it, I showed up for my appointment a week later, to be told he cancelled an hour ago. I explained carefully and with polite detail to his assistant that he needed to call me, that was nearly a month ago. I have since spoken to several highly respected and established artists. It's going to cost me an additional $ 600.00 to save just what he has done to my arm. And then more yet to finish it. If he had followed up or cared enough about correcting his mess you would not be reading this.

K C is a talented artist and I am more than pleased with the quality of inkwork he provided me with. As a difficult client to begin with, he listened to me and paid attention to my vision for my artwork. His shop is extremely professional and clean. He really knows his craft! I would highly recommend him and his shop to anyone, in fact I'll be using him for more ink in the future!
