Electric Eye Custom Tattoos

Monica has created all 5 of my tattoos. She does fast and clean work. I would never consider going to anyone else. Her new shop, and the ladies she tattoos with are amazing. Her eclectic style shows through in this very visually appealing space. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

I went to Nicole to get my first ever tattoo and had a great experience! The environment was so comfortable and she was very professional! I’m so happy with how my tattoo turned out and would definitely come here again!

My husband and I have been going to Monica for tattoos for more than 10 years because she does such amazing work! We traveled from all the way from California to get our last tattoo done by Monica at Electric Eye 5 years ago and they still look amazing! We have our next tattoos planned out and can’t wait to go back to Electric Eye and have Monica do them! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! 10/10 on everything from cleanliness to quality of work!

The staff is amazing and the vibe of the shop is perfection. I got my tattoo from electric eye back in Dec 2020 and my fiance loved it so much he got his 1st ever tattoo from them a few months ago! Monica ROCKS! (they are all amazing though)

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! My artist was Tori and she had such a gentle hand while tattooing compared to other places I’ve been. The receptionist and other apprentice Frey were so nice it was crazy! They had a great work ethic and made you feel comfortable. The receptionist cleaned all seats, and work surfaces, took everyone’s temps, and even had everyone sanitize their hands as they entered the building. I wanted a bee tattoo and had nothing in mind and Tori came up with such a cute idea! I definitely plan on returning to get the tattoo colored in!

Listen, Freydis is the ONLY person I let tattoo me, but if I wasn’t so fatally loyal to her, I would be happy to let any of these women stab me. I have not seen a piece of work come out of that shop that isn’t absolutely stunning. The atmosphere is completely welcoming and every time I walk in for my appointment I feel like I’m being greeted by family. I love the EE girls so much and I think you’d be doing yourself a disservice by going somewhere else to get ink put in your skin.

I love that Roanoke has a female run tattoo shop! Every artist there is incredibly talented and professional. Frey does such amazing work, and has a very kind soul, I always trust her to execute any idea I have, and make it a reality. Highly recommend!

Despite all the positive reviews I would like to bring attention to the moment I walked to the front door, there was a shop full of people yet we were greeted outside as if we wasn't welcomed inside. while waiting for the receptionist outside the front door, I read a paper posted that stated "we value black lives" in all caps and bold which was a red flag for me since all the other "welcomed" subjects was printed out in regular under case print. the reception returned with a business card and proceeded to tell my friend and I that they were appt. only and the work portfolio was located on social media website Instagram, which was such a inconvenience due to the fact I'm not social media savvy, we left disappointed with the general greeting being so vague its been a ripple affect in certain areas of the community. Caucasian owned businesses have been treating and greeting persons of color with less respect and less interest in accepting our business in the Roanoke VA community and that is unacceptable.

Electric Eye has one of the friendliest, professional and safe environments in the valley, and not just the valley but of all the shops I have frequented in my life. The staff is always amazing and accommodating. It’s been delightful to see Monica build her empire up and be so cautious with who she chooses to employ, she has made phenomenal choices, btw. Watching Tori and Frey grow as artists is awe inspiring, and now adding Angie into the mix as shop manager, I don’t know how they could get any better. They stand behind the quality of work they carefully and creatively produce for each and every client and treat each client like they are their top priority. I’m so proud of each and every one of them and how they’ve grown as a team and individuals. If you haven’t gotten a tattoo or gems here yet, you should change that. You won’t regret it.

Monica runs a first-rate shop. She is very thorough beforehand. I took an idea to her, we talked about it; she told me what was good and bad about the idea. We came to agreement on the piece, I made an appointment a month out, paid my deposit and waited. The appointment itself was a breeze. Monica was extremely meticulous, fully hygienic and nimble. She made my first tattoo experience as smooth as can be. And the price was very reasonable.
Her shop is one you should look at if you are in the market. Her skills and the variety of styles she has done are amazing.
