Idolize Tattoo

Henry James did a sun and moon design for my sister and I on my birthday. He did an outstanding job. I am so overjoyed with the results. We had a great time and it honestly couldn't have turned out any better. He drew a design based off what we showed him but it looks a thousand times better. If you're thinking about going here I highly recommend it. Go see Henry James! He's awesome.

Sam Victoria was GREAT! She was super friendly, quick, and gentle. Most tattoos hurt to me but the one she did didn't at all! I'm super pleased and can't wait to get more work done by her!

Just got a tattoo inked by Robin down here at Ancient's Arts, and he did a phenomenal job. I brought in the design that I wanted to have put on my calf, and he put it on perfectly. The detail work that he did is exactly what I was looking for. He had a great chairside manner, was very clear about what to expect with the tattoo process and the aftercare. If/when I decide to get more art, I'll definitely go back.

My cousin and I booked our session a month in advance, sent pictures and repeatedly asked for drawings to be sent for us to review prior, no response. The day we arrived, Sam not only told us our ideas were stupid and dumb and she couldn't as an artist do what we wanted, she had us wait for her to draw up a design we compromised on only to tell us when we came back in that we weren't going to agree on anything and she wasn't going to do the tattoos. I was flying back to the east coast the next morning and this devasted my cousin and I. We were able to find a shop and artists who did what we originally wanted and did awesome jobs, thankfully, but Sam definitely left a sour taste in our trip memory.

First off, let me start by saying I flew across the country just to be tatted by the Greek God that is DL Rius. Did it take us 4 hours to create a master piece that will forever live on my person? Yes. Yes, it did. Am I mad about it? No. No, I am not. Am I considering going back tomorrow for more work by him? Again, yes, yes I am. Amazing vibes. Great guys. Chill place. Absolutely in love with his work and my amazing piece. On a one to ten scale I shall give DL an 11. Yea I said what I said. THANKS FIREND!

My first tattoo was done by Amanda, and I'm in no way disappointed. Absolutely love my tattoo, and she did a great job. Whenever I wear a tank (tat is on my delt) people constantly tell me how cool it is. I plan on coming back soon for my next!

Henry James is very rude, condescending and treated me like I was an idiot. I don’t want to go into detail, but I had horrible anxiety because of him when I left. And the prices here are ridiculous for something small and simple. Ended up not getting the tattoo, because I didn’t feel comfortable with him anymore.
Edit: So, because the “owner” wants to act like they were there when I was being treated poorly, I was simply trying to convey my ideas, and almost every idea I had, Henry would give me attitude about it, and basically act like it was a stupid idea(which I am the customer, even if you thinks it’s dumb, try to give me some constructive criticism in a nice way). Then after the first picture it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I asked him to just tweak something small, and that posed him off because I didn’t want to just hop in his chair and get it tattooed. And then when I came back to see the next sketch, it was the EXACT drawing from the picture I showed him that was just supposed to be inspiration for my tattoo. And then said in a VERY condescending tone “this is what you wanted, isn’t it?” And it wasn’t obviously cause I didn’t want the exact picture, but because I already paid I wanted to just get it done. But, as I waited for him to get ready, he talked to other customers for like 15min (wasting my time that I’m paying $120 an hour for), I watched him very slowly set up all the equipment(literally took his sweet time, wasting my money and not caring). And then when he went to shave the small part on my arm where I was getting tattooed, he pulled an uncovered razor from a drawer and shaved my arm with it (I was scared of getting an infection from this). And when he put the stencil on, I simply asked him I wanted it about 1cm from where he put it. And he then argued with me saying it would look “stupid” how I wanted it. Then when I was trying to explain why I wanted to move it he LITERALLY cut me off while I, THE CUSTOMER, was speaking and said in an aggressive tone “do you want me to move it, yes or no.” And of course I said yes, then he laughed in a mocking way at me and began to remove the stencil. At that point I no longer felt safe or comfortable going through with this tattoo with him. My anxiety was sky high from the way he talked and treated me. So I then excused myself and went home, I was able to get my deposit back. And, about a week later my mother was supposed to get a tattoo there, and also look at a sketch done by Henry. And what happened when she got there was, Henry gave her the deposit back for her tattoo and said “I don’t want another bad review” and sent her on her way. Incredibly unprofessional and doesn’t care about his clients, and I’m disappointed that after the owner saw this they had the nerve to comment under it that I don’t know what happened to me at that shop. Instead of trying to justify your employees bad decisions and terrible customer service, maybe you should apologize to me and flak with your employee about not being rude to people paying you for a service!
Edit2: I don’t even have to say how unprofessional they are, just look at the owners response for Christ’s sake. I did get my deposit back, that is a fact, I can show you my credit card statement about it. And Henry told me “$100 minimum, and $120 an hour. He was talking to other customers while I dined the release form (which took me two minutes) and then proceeded to wait for him to decide he wanted to do his job. I have nothing to gain from giving a bad review, it’s not personal, I just think people should know what their getting into! This place is a sh*tshow.

The guys at Idolize Tattoo are absolutely amazing at what they do! Everyone was super nice and super cool! Overall this place offers a great atmosphere and a great tattoo service!

Henry is truly the best! I was disappointed with a tattoo I got at another shop, not that it was bad just wasnt right, Henry made it awesome! Not only is he talented but he is honest and real, I couldnt ask for more in an artist! Thank you Henry! Cant wait to get more work done!
