Dark Horse Tattoo

So I originally contacted Dark Horse about a scar cover-up tattoo idea I had. After a good conversation with the artist, I started looking through their photos and reviews on Facebook. I noticed one review about a rib tattoo and how they remarked that the Tattooist was gentle on the area, which reminded me about the rookie tattoo I needed redone.
I had just met the young artist via my friends, and I was mostly being courteous about accepting his offer to do my tattoo for cheap. He ended up pressing way too hard with the Tattoo machine whilst indulging in Death Metal, and he caused bruising under the work. Every artist I showed it to, said nothing could be done due to the internal damage. It's been over 5 years since that mishap.
I scheduled an appointment for a consultation with Josh, and in person he tells me about how he can redo the symbols, and use skin-tone ink to cover the old tattoo! The appointment was great and he ended up making the tattoo straighter than it was originally placed. He also took care to explain in great detail, how the flesh ink worked to cover up the old stuff. The Japanese is nice and bold now and I'm excited to see how the cover-up heals, for which he has offered a complimentary touch-up if needed. I'll share a healed photo later!
As for how I heard about Dark Horse, a guy I dated briefly had raved about his friend's small business and showed me the work he had done. I kept the company reserved in my memory for when I wanted to get a more artistic tattoo, and I checked back in on their progress and happily watched them grow over time. I love the studio setup, endless art all around the place, and the snackie machines!
Josh was very friendly, funny and overall super personable- I'll look forward to coming back again in the future.

I've been in twice this month to have tattoos done by Josh Carr. He does excellent work and has always made the experience easy, collaborative, and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Tattooed by Sasha King over a period of two sessions. Did the research, by and large Sasha exceeded my expectations with the intricate drawing I brought in. Sasha brought it to life and made it as just as dark and twisty as I expected. 10/10 recommend Dark Horse, but more so in recommending Sasha’s absolute artistry. He has the knowledge and experience to create some memorable ink.

Sasha has been doing my tattoos for almost ten years. He is always knowledgeable, friendly and skilled.

Shasha is amazing, I have difficult schedule and he made it work. Now about my tattoo, it's amazing. I showed him what I wanted and he made some modifications to it. He also explained why the modifications and I ended up liking it even better

Got a small white ink tattoo from Joe yesterday - super chill and nice. Whole space had a really calm and fun vibe. I specifically wanted the tattoo to be really subtle and really just for me. A lot of artists are understandably wary about doing white ink but can be really dickish in their discussions about it. Joe was super cool once he understood that I already had a white ink tattoo and knew what it would look like when it healed and faded. He is professional, fun, and charges very fairly. Highly recommend.

Sasha is an awesome artist. He’s done 12 of my 14 tattoos. Love them all. Can’t wait to get another one.

Decided to walk in on a Sunday. We worked out a nice easy piece to remember my stop in Seattle.

They were very friendly and accommodating to our tattoo requests. We came in as a group and it was a chill atmosphere and Sasha King was awesome and gave recs on future tats.

I have been going to Dark Horse for about 7 years now, ever since it was in Everett and that's where I first met Sasha. My first tattoo was a huge skull shaped a little like a heart with a banner on the left side of my chest. A very brave spot for a first tattoo. I now have 13 tattoos and all except 2 have been done by Sasha. I trust him with all my work. Whenever I want a new tattoo I always bring him my pictures and ideas of what I want. He always listens to my ideas and looks at all my terrible drawings or the pictures I found. He has resketched the tattoos for me and made it his own and I love that. The idea is mine and he puts his hard work into it and makes it perfect(since I am a terrible artist). He's a super nice guy and even before I really knew him I liked how honest he was and overall interested in my tattoo and why I wanted it. Now that we know each other he still asks about my ideas and stays in touch with me about future work. He is more than a great tattoo artist he's a great person to have put something permanent and so important on your body. I trust all his fellow tattoo artist because I know how high his standards are when it comes to tattoos. Each and every guy in his shop has their own unique style and something new to add to the shop, and they are all super nice and hilarious back and forth banter is a must when you're sitting for hours getting art tattooed on you. I've had one of his other guys tattoo me and I loved it! It's the best having a reliable tattoo guy and also being able to trust the guys he hires to do any work for me when he's not available. He's the best and I've gone to others and they just don't compare to his style and demeanor. Give this shop a look and I know those who truly love and appreciate tattoos will be just as happy as I am. I'm a faithful and loyal customer and I keep going back. Love you Sasha!!!
