Custom Tattoo

Troy is a great artist! He did my first tattoo, (which I was very nervous about), and did it quickly and comfortably. It was the perfect placement, size, design, and line weight. He had such a steady hand, and was very calming about me being anxious. The price is very reasonable for the quality of work I received. The shop is clean, well lit, and professional. When I was lightheaded at the end because of my anemia, he offered me water and candy. I would reccomend this place to anyone, whether it’s their 1st or 50th tattoo. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!

This was my first time getting a tattoo and it was sort of out of the blue! I worked with Troy Garris to figure out my design. He was more than patient and helpful with me when I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. He sketched out and figured out a perfect design for me.

I of course was nervous getting it started, but Troy kept conversation going the whole time which was a great distraction and also made it a point to check on how I was doing and letting me know how much more to go and such.

It was a great experience and I would recommend Custom Tattoo to anyone! I'm sure I will be going back in the future!

This is the 5th different place I've gotten a tattoo at and I can say it is by far the best experience I've ever had. Greg is a soft spoken, funny, amazing artist who made my mom feel very comfortable getting her first tattoo. He even stayed open late on a Saturday when we asked him at the last minute to give my girlfriend a tattoo. The shop was extremely clean and I can honestly say I will never go anywhere else for a tattoo again. Highly recommended

I got my tattoo done in August of this yr. Met with Greg gave him my design. The shop is very nice what you see on the pictures is exactly what you get. When I first walked in the environment was very soothing, with this being my first one needless to say I was ampted by the time I left and was ready to get my tattoo.
My apt was for the next day Wednesday. Needless to say I'm nervous. Greg promised me he would be fast and did one line so I'd get an idea of what I was dealing with. It's pain but bearable. He finished the job in less than 45 minutes! It was great. The tattoo was even better than that I had imagined! Greg rocks and I got more work coming his way!!!!

Shop was clean and cared for. Greg was so friendly and welcoming. Greg made sure everything was perfect before making it permanent. I will definitely be back; best tattoo experience by far!

I’ve been to at least 10 different tattoo shops in Milwaukee but this is by far the best! I’ve never seen artists with straighter, cleaner lines before. After coming here for a couple tattoos, I will not go to another tattoo shop in the area. I have found the type of artists I want at this establishment. :)

Greg and Troy are the absolute best. I've worked with Troy the most, and he's a wonderful artist and a great person to talk to. He does an excellent job keeping up a steady stream of chitchat and banter during a tattoo--once I nearly fell asleep during one, he had me so relaxed!

The shop itself is incredibly clean, open, and bright: the austerity of its decoration underscores how serious these guys are about their art. They won't hit you over the head with badass decor but when it boils down to it, giving people wonderful ink is what they're all about.

Furthermore, they're both very knowledgeable and personable; Troy went out of his way to give me detailed explanations of why my tattoo was healing the way it was after a month (my first color piece--and color linework to boot--and it wasn't healing like I thought it would). I really appreciated that he respected my intelligence and took the time to tell me exactly why the healing process was what it was. There's someone who loves what they do.

I honestly will likely never go anywhere besides Custom for as long as I'm in Milwaukee, and even then I might just have to travel to make a special trip. I was gone for a whole year and these guys still knew me by name when I walked into their shop. :) Kudos to them both!

I've had 3 great experiences at Custom - Trista is an amazing tattoo artist and does great custom work. Every time I go in there are great stories being told and lots of laughs. Great environment - VERY clean and professional. I highly recommend them. If you don't take my word for it - walk in and checkout their photo albums of past work - it's all very impressive.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Troy is incredibly kind, patient, and professional. He does exactly what you want! The space was clean and calm--not over stimulating. Far and away the best tattooing experience I have ever had!! I won't ever go anywhere else.
