Challis is absolutely phenomenal! She has done 2 tattoos for me so far and I'm so excited to get more done. The environment of the shop is like no other I've been in. So positive and inviting. A really safe space for everyone.

I am really disappointed about polar, but mainly jared and the disorganization of this place. I scheduled my appointment a month ago and due to some circumstances there was a rescheduling in place, when rescheduling with the person on the other end, they made it so confusing and it almost made me cancel the appointment in whole since i didn't want to deal with that. Once i finally got situated with a day and time i arrived only to find out that jared was sick AND he had no idea i was rescheduled and he asked me to text him when i am available. He didn't offer me a discount or even apologize which is absurd. I decided this was not it for me and texted them i will be cancelling the appointment, they are very disorganized and have been from the start. I just hope i am able to get my $100 deposit back for a tattoo and design he didn't do, since it was supposed to be freehanded.

I visited Polar three times between January and September 2022 and the artist I went to (and am still a client of) left the shop due to a toxic work environment, where things were stolen from her and there were allegedly awful comments made towards her and her apprentice by other artists at the shop, which I will not be discussing in this review but she had a very good reason to leave. I did stop going to Polar purely because my artist left, but I wanted to give some insight on an uncomfortable situation I had with the owner, Jared.
I was getting a thigh tattoo of skeletons dancing in a circle (like Matisse's The Dance). My artist absolutely SLAYED it, I love how it turned out. When Bel was printing the stencil, Jared straight up laughed at it and said "ring around the rosie" trying to be funny, but as someone about to get this tattoo permanently etched on my skin that comment made me SICK. It is so unprofessional to say anything like that and laugh at a tattoo when this is obviously something I had been waiting to get for a couple of months. My artist and her apprentice backed me up because they are both amazing people but if this wasn't my fourth time getting tattooed by this artist and I knew I could trust her, I would have been very offput and possibly not even been tattooed that day.

I’ve gotten two tattoos from Leight. She’s so sweet and a great artist! I got a snake from one of her flash sheets and a teddy bear. Working with her for the teddy bear was a great experience since this tattoo means a lot from me. The tattoo studio itself is clean, modern, and chill. Sofas, free drinks and food exceeded my standards for a tattoo studio. I’m so excited to come back and get another tattoo from Leight!

Even though I was a walk-in, FG was awesome to take on my “punny” tattoo. I love it and I loved FG. Super cool, super chill studio. Loved the vibe of the entire place and people. If you have a pun inspired tattoo, hit up FG. It’ll be perfect.

Got a tattoo from Beltane and I love it so much! She posted this design on Instagram and I messaged her that day to set up an appointment. She replies super quickly and is very easy going. I had to reschedule the first planned day due to work and she was super helpful with replanning! She takes her time and takes pride in her work. Definitely book with Beltane if you can!!

Jared did an amazing job bringing what I wanted to life and was really patient and amazing when I kept wanting to change things last minute. He kept making sure to check on me to make sure I was still doing good. I will definitely be coming back!!!
