Victorian Tattoo Waikiki Hawaii

Took my fiance by to get details on a back tattoo. Spoke with James at the counter and I talked about setting up an appointment. He said she could get the tattoo done as early as today if we wanted. We said yes and he said to give him an hour and a half to finish up a customer and pop back in. We came back in and he had taken another customer and said sorry, he had appointments. If we put $100 down he said we could come back at 8pm, check out the sketch he would do up, and knock it out. We agreed even after the first delay because we were walk-ins and it's Saturday after all. We paid, sent him the reference photo in a text at 4pm and came back at 8. He is with 2 customers ahead of us this time and asks us to wait again. We wait thinking it will be fast. About an hour and a half later he finishes up with them, quickly eats dinner next, then starts drawing our tattoo. He hadn't even started the sketch. Its 930 pm at this point and he said to give him another 40 or so minutes to do her sketch for the 4+ hour long tattoo. Nope. We took the $100 back and left. Wasted gas and trip from Ewa. Obviously he was busy working but an appointment is an appointment. You dont tell customers a time to come by and blow them off. Let alone twice. Learn to unclutter your schedule. 3 hours wasted that day

Response to owner: As I said in my review the first thing we did was discuss setting up an appointment. James was the one who indicated getting it done the same day, we didnt ask him for that. He assured us he had the openings so we agreed, we didnt turn down anything. Regardless, if a staff member sets aside your money, specifies a time to show up and isn't ready that's not on the customer. That happened twice. If he had appointments scheduled at 8 why would he tell us to come back then? The artwork there looks great, and under better circumstances perhaps it would have been a good visit but that's not what happened. Sorry but it's just an honest review from our experience. I was vacationing here from Georgia with my sisters and we wanted to do something to remember our wonderful vacation in Waikiki. So we decided on getting tattoos. I was nervous because this was my first tattoo and I wanted to make sure I had a good experience. I went on the internet and searched for tattoo shops near my hotel. I am so glad that I did because I almost picked a shop with horrible customer service, but instead I listened to the good reviews for Victorian Tattoo. Me and my sister's received an awesome original tattoo drawn by Anthony. He was great!!! He is a very talented and knowledgeable artist. He put me at ease and getting my tattoo was the least painful thing I have ever done. I would highly recommend Anthony and Victorian Tattoo!! If we ever return to Oahu I will definitely be calling Anthony again for more ink!!

James was amazing & did a great tattoo. He was extremely nice & made me feel comfortable the whole time. I highly recommend Victorian Tattoo. I’m from Michigan & will definitely be back when I return to Hawaii!

Went in after taking a trip to Hawaii and saving up for a big piece I was super excited about. I’ve been going there for ages every time I go to Hawaii and working with a couple of cool guys but mostly James since his style is perfect for what I’ve been looking for. But this time I went in and The guy there was actually shockingly rude and wouldn’t tell me when James was coming in, and then said he’d be “willing” to tattoo me himself! When I clearly asked for James. I ended up finding James on instagram @obiwanink. So I can keep up with him at least. But I just wasn’t happy with whatever changes have been made. The atmosphere was weird and off. Whatever it is, I’m gonna be taking my business elsewhere. Maybe I’ll swing by again next time I’m in Hawaii and see if they got their customer service together.

I was on vacation in Honolulu just last week and thought it is time to get some new ink. I already had a Tiki tattoo on my back that was done 7 years ago during my first visit to Hawaii. I came up with the idea to put something around it, polynesian-style. I reviewed a couple of tattoo shops online while I was there and I really liked what I saw on Victorian Tattoo's website. So I went there Tuesday morning and met Anthony the owner. I showed him what I already had on my back and told him roughly what I was thinking to add to it. Anthony gave me some great advice and said he already has an idea what to do with the available space and said he's going to draw it right on there, he said he could also color-up my old tattoo for me. So I made an appointment and put a deposit down for last Friday, the day before I left Hawaii. Anthony is a great artist and I think his work speaks for itself. He did a great custom piece on my back what basically became "one" with the Tiki I already had. As promised he put some real nice color in there too. This was a great experience and I will definitely go back there for more ink when I come back to Hawaii (hopefully soon!!). Everyone in the shop was really friendly and down-to-earth and I was also impressed with the professionalism and the cleanliness of the shop. Thank you very much Victorian Tattoo - you guys are cool!

Really awesome place, very clean and sanitized. I’ve been tattooed there by James twice and both times have been great. He really cares about giving you the best tattoo possible. I’m going back soon to get more. Overall it’s a great place and everyone there does good work.

AWESOME GUYS! Saw Jay for my first ever tattoo & he was very patient with my incessant laughter. Came in with two friends and he got through all of us in less than 2 hours. Mahalo!! I'm sure we'll pop by next time we visit Oahu :)

I was there last year in August 2017 and received a beautiful turtle tattoo from BigHead! I get compliments all the time. I will be returning to visit my daughter and son in law again at the end of this August 2018 and plan on stopping by. I hope BigHead will be around. James also did some beautiful turtle tattoos on both my daughters! Thank you so much!!!!

We were looking for a store that sold shells and I recognized the name of this shop so I went down the stairs from the sidewalk and inquired about a foot tattoo. There was only me as a patron so they agreed to do it. Fair price and I was asked if I liked the design, not something I hear in Atlanta. Thanks for the tattoo and suffering through my endless prattle.
