Octopus Ink Tattoo

I decided to get my very first tattoo during our visit to Maui. Jim was very helpful and responded to my appointment request right away. I sent him an idea of what I wanted and his version was so much better! He walked me through the whole process and he eased my nerves right away. It was one on one, and in a clean and calm environment. I plan on going back when return to Maui. I would highly recommend giving Jim a call if you are in Maui looking for a tattoo artist.

I knew I had an appointment with an artist who wasn't just trying to "take advantage of a tourist". I was able to instantly send him my tattoo design and he not just agreed, but his excitement to do the work was exciting for us!
We attempted to make an appointment with a few other shops and had bad experiences trying to even get the appointment made. Other shops made me feel like it was my first time making a tattoo appointment... which is very much not the case.
We were lucky enough to be his first official tattoos in his new shop and we're proud to show off our work!

After doing a ton of research, I stumbled upon this shop in Maui. After a brief chat, I put down a deposit for a session in a few days time. I couldn’t be happier with the end result! The colors just pop! I genuinely had a great experience! Jim is a great artist, and it was great talking with him during the session, even though my tattoo placement hurt like hell. Jim was pretty busy during my stay, so the design phase conversation was a bit nerve racking, but as I said before, I couldn’t be happier with the end result. I would undoubtedly get work done with him again. Mahalo.

Jim was awesome! My husband and I wanted to get tattoos on our last day visiting. He did an excellent job. His work is dope, and he has rad music playing too. Was on Maui for a vacation and decided to get my first tattoo. I was super nervous not knowing an artist or having been referred to one I got online and found O.I.T. A buddy and I walked in on a Saturday and showed him the design, location and size I wanted. I told him we were leaving on Tuesday and asked if it was possible.
On Monday I showed up Jim had the design on a transfer he must have spent a couple hours working on. It was a lot more detailed than i thought possible and it was exactly how I wanted it. 3 hours later after great conversation, music and a clean environment Jim treated the work with a lotion and a spray. I had zero bleeding, redness , itch or pain. (there was of course pain during but tolerable) I didn’t even need the plastic wrap and walked out with my tee shirt on. The close up pic is from just an hour afterwards and the other is from 4 days later. Get Hustle Butter it’s amazing
The final price was what I was quoted up front.
I think he should charge more for his work so make sure you tip him good.
Couldn’t be happier and the addiction has started.
I’ll be getting another from Jim the next time I’m in Maui

What an incredible experience all around. We walked in after our snorkel cruise for a quote on our tattoos and ended up booking appointments right away because of the fair price and excellent review from a local employee at the PacWhale foundation. His rate is excellent for the quality of his services. He is clean, thorough, and professional. He is an artist and you can really tell he enjoys what he does. One of my favorite experiences while I was in Hawaii! My group of 5 vacationing were wanting a tattoo before we left and Jim was so accommodating and helpful! Got us in an hour after our walk in and did 4 tattoos within 4 hours. That tattoo shop was very clean and even had a pup (Poodle) to hang out with while we waited! Definitely recommend Jim and will for sure be back next time we are visiting Maui :) thanks Jim for the awesome tattoo! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it already!

AMAZING. Professional, courteous and flexible! Wonderful line work for a shaka tattoo Jim did for my husband and I on our last day in Maui. He fit us in last minute and did a phenomenal job. He had me text him a picture of the design we wanted and presented a sketch to us to approve before we began. His survey before he begins is a great touch to help him get to know you and make sure you're aware of the aftercare and what to experience during as well. He does amazing work and I would recommend him a million times. Great conversation, never awkward with great prices

I had this brilliant idea of getting a Tattoo as a souvenir. I sent a picture of the design, the size, and location of where I'd like it to 6 different Tattoo shops on Maui along with a request for date, time, and, most importantly, a price estimate. Jim was the ONLY ONE who gave a price estimate and answered everything. Everyone else wanted me to call them to have a discussion; suggesting to stop by their shop, etc. I didn't have time for any of that. So, I picked Jim and stuck with it. Am I ever so glad I did! He is very nice and accommodating. Jim even worked with me on my detail requests and adjusted the design and size accordingly without touching the price. My Tattoo is EXCELLENT! If you want a great, fun, and no-nonsense experience with your Tattoo, Octopus Ink is the place and Jim is your Man!
