"Alchemy is Tattoo & Gallery located in downtown Elgin. Alchemy is a woman owned and operated private tattoo studio. Resident tattooed artists are Amy Porter, Paige Hudon, HyeSook, & Percy! They service Chicago, Elgin, and Schaumburg area, and out of state clients. All bodies are welcome! We're LGBTQ safe space. We work with all body types. Alchemy Tattoo & Gallery is an appointment only studio. Clients must complete the booking form for a consultation or appointment. Visit alchemy's website to schedule. Walk-ins are not accepted at this point. We specialized in larger body art, color tattoos, female portraiture ,and art inspired by nature and ornamental elements, illustrative, and anime tattoos."

Amy is SUCH an incredible artist and always brings my ideas to life is the most beautiful ways! She has a unique way of combining what I’m looking for with her own creativity to create pieces I adore. I’ve had her work on a number of pieces including a cover up and an in progress sleeve. She also does a great job of listening and checking in, making sure I have breaks when I need them and has snacks and drinks on offer if needed. I can’t imagine going anywhere else!

Amy is one of the most incredible tattoo artists I have ever worked with. Her use of color is both beautiful and her technique means it doesn't fade or discolor with proper care. The below picture is just one of MANY pieces Amy has done for me.
I have also gotten tattooed by Paige -- she is also incredibly talented and a great artist to work with!
The shop is super clean, has great vibes, and is a relaxing place to get a tattoo. Lots of nice amenities and in a very private, secure space so you can feel comfortable being tattooed here.
Lastly, the Alchemy team are incredibly inclusive to ALL people and are committed to making you feel comfortable every step of the process. You will walk away feeling supported and with an awesome piece of art.

I just had my first tattoo appointment with Amy and it was everything I hoped for. Amy was very nice and personable. Her studio is nice and very clean. She offered drinks and snacks. We talked about anime the whole time! My tattoo looks amazing! I’ve already scheduled more appointments to continue my sleeve.

Paige was amazing and let me know everything I needed to know about taking care of my tattoo. Very clean environment & you can tell she takes pride in her work. I loved my experience with Amy. Getting a first tattoo can be daunting. My experience at our design consult and the sitting was excellent. Amy's attention to what I said and her creativity made the design just perfect. The day of the sitting went perfectly. The studio is so comfortable and inspiring.
