After talking a look at some of the artwork on the website I decided to come in and check out the staff after picking a few artists I liked. The staff helped me pick an artist that would suit the tattoo I wanted to get and set up a consultation to speak with him. The consultation went over great and we hashed out a plan and a set an appointment.
I just got back from my first half day session and Orville killed it! I booked two more sessions before leaving. He did great work and I can wait to get the whole piece finished!

Catalyst Arts is hands down the best tattoo shop in the Kansas City metro area, if not the entire state. All of their artists are extremely talented. I have gotten tattoos from multiple artists that work there and they have all turned out greater than I could have ever imagined. The artists really take the time to put a lot of detail and care into every single tattoo that they do. They truly love what they do. The facility is very clean, professional, and well lit. It does not have the feel of a typical tattoo shop. When you walk in, there is actual framed art on the walls instead of a bunch of flash art or binders. Plus they have a pool table so that's pretty sweet. The shop manager, Stephanie, is also very helpful and extremely courteous. I am constantly referring my friends to visit Catalyst Arts and none of them have been disappointed. I highly recommend Catalyst to anyone that wants a high quality tattoo, you will not be disappointed!

Catalyst is hands down the best tattoo shop in KC. They only have artists that are top notch, and I’d recommend every single one of them. I have been getting tattoos by Bob for years, and I’m always amazed by how incredible my tattoos are.

Wes absolutely killed it with my tattoo. I told him what I was thinking and he took it an ran with. He put so much time and detail into my tattoo I felt like he felt as if he was tattooing himself and wanted everything to be perfect and it is. My kids, family, friend, and of course myself all love it. Thank you again man I'll be back for sure and send everyone I know to you brotha.

My husband and I had a consultation with Mikey today for a unique couples tattoo. He was upfront and honest with pricing and how many sessions it will take. We are looking forward to working with him.** UPDATE: Mikey is an amazing artist. I absolutely love the work he has done so far. so excited to see this piece finished.**

Ashley is amazing...highly recommend! I've had him update 4 of my tattoos and all have been beyond expectation. Next time going to have him design something new! There are other great artists there, but Ashley's style is my personal favorite.

Mikey Ruck is the best. He's been my tattoo artist for years. I come all the way from Belgium to Kansas City so I can get tattooed by him. That's how good he is!
Catalyst Arts Collective moved to this new space at Crossroads and it only got better since. Very cool and talented group of artists.

I am in the process of a sleeve and I’m almost halfway through, Ashley Emerson is my artist and I highly recommend him if you are looking for a new creative design, a cover up, a touch up or update, or adding on to something. I have never had a better experience with a tattoo artist, his work is incomparable to anything I have ever seen and his attention to detail is outrageous. Not only is he an amazing artist but he is such an easy going, laid back, likable person and his customer service makes you feel so welcomed and comfortable. Everyone at this shop is incredible but Ashley’s style is my favorite! You should go see him....RIGHT NOW..🙌🏼

I cannot say enough good things about Punch Jones who did my tattoo. I saw examples of his lettering on his Instagram account and felt sure he would be the right person to do a phrase that was in my own handwriting. I was correct: It looks like I wrote on my own arm. The shop is clean and comfortable, and everyone is very friendly. I wouldn't hesitant to recommend this shop to others.

Called to set up an appointment and left multiple messages over a 2 month span. Finally got a consultation and set up my appointment at the artists earliest appointment date (about 7 months, no big deal his art is amazing as are all of catalysts artists), 4 months before my appointment I call to inform them something's come up that's out of my hands and legally I cannot be tattooed, it takes me over a month to reach them again. Talked to the manager (Valentine, really nice and cool guy), tells us that the artist will get back to us in a few days when he's got time, over 3 weeks later the artist still hasn't called us. Honestly the artists are talented and the manager is very nice and highly professional, their communication and call back skills need improvement though.
