I've been getting tattooed by Kerry for years. So glad she has opened her own studio! Her work is impeccable. I recommend Heart of Gold Body Arts to anyone looking for a great tattoo and a great experience!

I'm from Minnesota and was visiting family in the Hendersonville area and was referred to Heart of Gold Body Arts by a local employee of a different store. Derek performed my helix piercing and also did my sister's ears as well. He was super professional and I certainly appreciate and understand all of the sterile techniques he used pre piercing. I would definitely recommend them!

I recently had piercings in my ear from what I thought to be a very reputable place. After 2 rounds of antibiotics I was still in severe pain. Today I walked into Heart of Gold not knowing what to expect, I was greeted with sweet smiles and a warm welcome. I told them of my horror and they quickly accessed my problem and were willing to clean up a horrible mess that someone else made.
I have worked in the medical field for many years and know the procedures well, Heart of Gold is a topnotch business with the newest and latest equipment.
They treated me with kid gloves and was very gentle, taking care of me and making sure that I was pain free. I walked out of there pain free and a very thankful woman. Thanks guys for such an amazing job. I will never forget how kind you were to me.

I struggled with depression during college and a Red Cedar tree literally saved my life. I really wanted a tattoo of the tree and looked at a bunch of artists in the area. After following Kerry on Instagram, I thought she would be perfect. I booked her earliest appointment which was 6 months out. During the 6 months I went all the way to Washington State to visit the tree and collect some foliage. Unfortunately, the night before my appointment Kerry had to cancel due to a sick child. I asked to be rescheduled and she offered to refund my deposit. I said I just really wanted to be rescheduled and she said she would be by her schedule the following day to let me know. The next day I never heard from her. The following day I sent her a message saying I was disappointed I never heard from her about rescheduling. She then refunded my deposit and told me we wouldn’t have worked well together and proceeded to make some very hurtful, wrong accusations about my character. While she is clearly a very talented artist, that does not entitle her to treat people poorly.

Savannah tattooed me on Monday and the whole experience was awesome! Not only are my tattoos well done and placed beautifully but our conversation was genuine and I was glad to connect with her. I enjoyed every moment! I’ll be back!

The shop itself is clean, and nice and I absolutely loved Savannah. She put me completely at ease with my first tattoo, walking me through the process, and creating a design I love! I’m so glad I found this shop and this artist!

I've been to a few piercers around the Asheville area, and I have to say that Derek Ian is, in my opinion, the best person to go to. I trust his expertise completely when it comes to the delicate art of trapping metal beneath skin. He's personable and patient and will answer any questions you may have. What really sets him apart from other piercers is that he takes his time to make sure your piercing is going to be as perfect as it can be, and that you're comfortable and informed about both the piercing process and the aftercare. On top of that, he sells the prettiest jewelry!

Heart of Gold is a gem of a tattoo shop tucked away in cute downtown Hendersonville. It's atmosphere is incredibly calming and comfortable. Very queer friendly as well. Kimber Fowler, my tattoo artist, designed a beautiful piece, and was very patient and kind through the process of my tattoo, as I got it in a difficult spot. I'm absolutely in love with my tattoo and this shop. I tell all of my friends to go there. While it's a bit of a drive out of Asheville, I can't stress enough the quality of this shop. Highly, highly recommend.

Kerry has such a wonderful studio, from the moment I walked in- I felt welcome and at-ease. She is super responsive to what your vision for your tattoo is, and provided a beautiful design that I absolutely love to show off!

Stopped by the shop today and found it fully stocked super talented people and a wide, beautiful selection of high quality jewelry. Had a wonderful experience getting a double nostril piercing and my septum changed out by Nic. He was so careful, professional, patient and thorough in explaining every single step he was taking, what equipment he was using and why. The pain was so quick and minimal and I even got snacks after. Highly recommend his services. The shop was so relaxing and peaceful, I felt extremely welcome, and at home, which is something I've yet to find in any other body mod shop. Everyone working there is extremely passionate about their work ; it's obvious from the moment you walk in that this is more than a job for them. You will have your piercer or tattooers undivided attention and you will be their top priority from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out.
