The shop itself is a cool atmosphere, very relaxed and easy going.
I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great tattoo in the Columbus area.

Got a half sleeve from Carter over the course of two sessions in the fall of 2021. It was my first tattoo so I was pretty nervous, especially considering it was so visible being on my forearm, but it was a great experience; the studio was clean and everyone was very friendly. And, perhaps most importantly, the tattoo came out incredible. I spent months researching artists in the Columbus area and I provided Carter very limited guidelines and he was able to produce a masterpiece that came out better than I could have imagined. I couldn’t recommend Carter or his shop more.

I visited Haley for my first tattoo this week and it was all around a great experience.
The studio has a great relaxing vibe the artists are really nice. Haley was great at walking me through the process and turning my ideas and pictures into a piece of art. I came to her after finding her on Instagram (@fauxpavvs), her animal and botanical illustrations being the thing that drew me in. I'm looking forward to coming back and getting more work done in the future.

Had a tattoo done by Carter maybe three years ago and I cannot wait to have it finally removed soon. I went in for something entirely different, was convinced to change my plan last minute and have regretted it ever since. My bear is often called “owl” or “raccoon” because it’s not recognizable at all. The face is terrible and I’ve been wearing long sleeves since getting it instead of proudly showing off the artwork. I should have left as soon as the design started changing.

I've had several tattoos done at Cloven Tattoo by the owner Carter. The studio is wonderful and the atmosphere is not your typical tattoo parlor. This is an art studio! They create beautiful art on people. As you can see I'm a big fan of their work and the work that they've done on me. If you're serious about getting a tattoo then be serious about where you get yours. You won't be disappointed and you'll definitely be back for more!
