I've never felt compelled to review a business before, but I do with this one. I walked in with a crude drawing of a tattoo idea that meant a lot to me, and Jason cleaned up the idea. He brought my concept to life. Two hours after walking in I left with a tattoo I love! Fantastic work and good people.

My kids go to see Gene and they both love the shop. I went with my daughter and got a piece done by Devon. It was a representative tattoo for my twin grandson's. It has taken me 5 years to firmly decide on what I really wanted. I chose their favorite stuffies a penquin and a lamb. Devon looked at pictures of them and drew up the perfect tattoo including scarves in their favorite colors. The boys loved it and isaid they look just like Snowy and Lamby. The studio is clean and bright and price was great. Thank you again Devon it was worth the wait.

Came here to get a PDX Carpet tattoo since it would be authentic to get it done in Portland. Gene did it for me and did an amazing job! Super nice and checked in frequently to make sure I was doing fine. This shop is extremely friendly and would reccomend to anyone in the area! I admire all of the artists work here!

so much respect for mira and everyone else at this shop. you come to them with an idea and they have the vision. absolutely affordable prices for the quality. i asked mira to draw me up a "badass fairy" and the piece was better than i ever could have imagined. she's an absolute gem! not only this, but they're experienced and have the respect for themselves and their clients to turn down a tattoo if they feel it doesn't or won't represent their artwork and their reputation as they want it to. free touch ups and super clean, cool shop. 12/10 :)

I went in for a walk in a couple days ago, and my first thought was that it was a clean shop. The artists were professional and they got me in pretty quick. Mira has steady hands and her designs in her space were awesome. She did wonderful work and I would definitely recommend this place to others. Great prices.

I was a walk-in right before closing time. I wanted a little finger tat and Gene happily obliged. Great atmosphere, good music playing, clean shop and friendly staff. Overall great experience. Thanks for my newest addition, Gene. I will cherish it for years to come.

I got a beetle tattoo on my arm, on a whim. Walked in, told Gene my idea, and he was excited to do it. Considering it was my first tattoo, I admit I was a bit hesitant. But the walkthrough was great and the nerves depleted once I saw the art. Gene was rad and made a great tattoo.

I drove in from Molalla to have another tattoo done by Gene and It was well worth it! I have had several different types of Tattoos done by him and have never been dissapointed and you will not be either if you choose Gene.

Drove from camas to get a small tattoo infront of my ear, emailed ahead of time and asked if a walk in would be okay since today is my birthday and they said yes! But... I showed up today on my 18th birthday and they told me they wouldn’t do it because it’s technically on my face, he said he must’ve read it wrong before. I spent twenty minutes crying in my car but eventually got the perfect tattoo from a place closer to home Studio X tattoo

Double-check any spelling if you go here…
TL;DR: I went in wanting a few simple tattoos, was met with some odd form of discrimination on getting ink on my hands and wound up with a permanent misspelling on my body for the other they were willing to do.
I’ve taken some time to sort of deal with my experience here – and now that I can fully laugh about it, I’m writing this review.
I came in on a whim with my partner a few months ago to get some tattoos we’d both been chewing on that were simple enough to be a walk-in type (since they advertised walk-in’s welcome, we thought “why not!?”… Oops…). I went with one artist, he with another. I wanted an arrow wrapped around my forearm with a work in cursive worked into it, which I checked and printed out the spelling for them and worked on the design. I then mentioned wanting to get cat paws on my hands (something I’ve wanted for years) to which I feel I was immediately talked down to… I was told I didn’t have enough ink on my body for him to want to do a hand tattoo and he didn’t want me to have any regrets… I dropped it since he kept mentioning that he wasn’t “comfortable” doing this tattoo for me, even after mentioning that I’d thought about it for years. This led into him telling me how I should “think carefully” about having the word on my arm upside and other unsolicited opinions on my ink. At this point, my partner was getting his ink and I just wanted to get my simple design done and over with.
What makes all of this so funny is even though I printed the correct spelling of “persevere” so he could do it in cursive, I got home and realized I had “perseRvere” on my arm… Good thing the artist didn’t want me to have any REGERTS on my tattoos, though… Super helpful.
ALWAYS CHECK SPELLING even when YOUR copy has it correct unless they are tracing directly from your art… ALWAYS and especially if you go here. If anyone has recommendations of artists who aren’t afraid to tatt my hands, my ears are wide open! Haha
