Been going to BLT for four years now I travel from California back to Charleston just to get tattooed. The staff and artists are such professionals and do incredible work. The woman at the front desk is such a sweetheart. Glen has bought me lunch and supplied me with all the BLK merc I love those guys I would recommend them to anyone

Shane did my tattoo and I absolutely love it! I had been mulling over which shop/artist to go to for a while and I'm glad it worked out that I could go to him because I already can't wait for my next tat. The shop is very clean, and everyone is super professional and welcoming. Highly recommend Broken Lantern!

So rude. My husband and I showed up to the shop to make appointments and we had to bring our daughter in to make the appointments. A woman came out and told us no one under 18 was allowed in and then shook her head at us and said “uh babies” and treated us like we were dumb. We called to make appointments and were told we had to come in or else we would not have even had our daughter in the shop. Very glad we did not waste on time dealing with such ignorant people.
To your response, the woman who came out and made her comments was in the back and had no idea the context of the situation, she just came out to make a scene for no reason. Second, when we called and were told we had to come in to schedule an appointment because it was a simple tattoo that needed no consultation we were not told we could not bring our child in for the 5 seconds it was going to take to make an appointment. And the two men who were in the shop did not say a word about her being in there and the one man was outside and saw us walking in with her so if it was that much of an issue it should have been addressed when we were going in rather than having this woman come at us in such a rude manner. I have also read other reviews where people have said how rude this woman is so I’m glad we did not make appointments with you guys. We will definitely go somewhere else where we will be treated respectfully since we were nothing but respectful in return. Definitely not going to give $200 an hour to ignorant people.

The whole experience from consultation to tattoo was absolutely amazing! Cam greeted me and got my idea. I called back several months later because I saved up the money. He knew exactly who I was and what I wanted to do. We made the appointment. True artistry is on display at Broken Lantern! I will be back! Go see Chris! He took my idea, made it better, and more personal!

I just got my second piece done by Chris. The store has a great atmosphere and everyone on has been friendly and helpful. Chris is an amazing artist and a cool guy to spend time with, which is important if you are going to spend a couple hours being tattooed. You guys have made me a loyal customer and when people ask I will make sure to tell them where to go. Thanks for the art.

I have been to Broken Lantern for my last 5 tattoos...small text pieces as well as custom designed pieces. I’ve used several different artists and have been happy with all of them. I love the vibe of the studio and Cameron at the front desk is always a friendly and familiar face that makes me feel very welcomed. I will continue to come here for future tats and always refer my friends as well!

My husband and I had an absolutely incredible experience here. We went in on Tuesday and made an appointment for Friday of the same week. I got a small piece on my ankle and my husband got a large tree on his tricep/shoulder area. Our artist was Chris, and not only was he super professional, he was very charismatic and kept the whole vibe of the appointment very light and friendly. Chris even ordered a pizza for lunch and gave my husband and me a slice of it! This was my first tattoo and it looks amazing, and while I was nervous, it was a super comfortable experience. Also, I think it is important to note that no one in the shop will make you feel bad about the tattoo you are choosing, even if it isn’t the most bold and creative piece. The shop has an eclectic look, but everyone there is very nice and nothing is intimidating in the slightest. I highly recommend this shop because the work is phenomenal, artists are talented, and the whole experience is exceptional.

Broken Lantern is a very professional shop with clean artists (ie. drug/alcohol free). Great customer service by Cameron at the front desk, while my artist Shane is very experienced and personable... he's easy to talk with while he's drawing. Shane and I worked for multiple hours just planning out how I wanted my tattoo to look before he even started slinging ink.
