Ashley Henson is my artist & I love her! I come to her from N.C. & have no problem driving the distance. Ashley is very professional & you can tell she loves what she does. She takes her time to make sure you are happy with what you are getting.
The shop is extremely clean & all the artist are super nice & very professional also. When you walk in it's like you're part of their family. Highly recommend this shop!

A friend of mine recommended Upper Hand Tattoo Studio. I'm glad I listened! Upper Hand made my (first) tattoo experience worthy of a written review :) The business was organized and clean; even the bathroom was spotless! I arrived just after they opened, and showed them the design I wanted. Chad offered to ink my tattoo, and I'm so glad he did. Chad was patient, listened to my ideas about the design, size, and placement. After coming to a mutual understanding, Chad created the stencil, a simple outline of the tattoo with none of the shading or colors. I was nervous about the lack of detail, but then realized that Chad, being the artist he was, would fill in the blanks, knowing what I wanted. Throughout our two hours together, Chad and I talked and laughed about ourselves. I learned about his love of all things tattoo, from the joy of endless variety in art and design, to the necessary science of needle quality, ink colorfastness, and building his own tattoo machine. Chad definitely loves going to work each day! After inking the black and shading, Chad took a break. Taking a peek at the tattoo, I was stunned at the details he added. I sent a picture to my daughter, who joked that I should leave the tattoo as is so my grandkids could use colored sharpies to color in the rest. Already Chad's artistry was evident! After the break came the colors and more shading. When Chad finally finished, I stared at the mirror, amazed at the beautiful tattoo Chad had given me. I definitely appreciate Chad's mastery of his work. Go to Upper Hand for your tattoo! Ask for Chad!

Super clean studio with friendly, professional artists. Bob was great, and very patient with our requests. Upon leaving, our car would not start and Bob even helped us out and got it up and running. Ashley has done three of my four tattoos and I plan on driving from VA back to SC so she can do any of my future ones. She's been incredibly friendly since day 1, willing to work with any ideas I had, and does incredible work (my foot tattoo still looks like new 2.5 years later). If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Met with Ashley Henson at Upper Hand Tattoo to get a sun tattoo with a few things baked in. She did a fantastic job and exceeded my expectations. It has taken me 5 years to get this done and she designed it and knocked it out of the park. I would also say that I had a great time because the other artists there were very fun and you could tell they all got a long including the 30+ year guy that didn't say much. Upper Hand was also very clean and a very nice office. I am so jacked over this tattoo! Thank you Ashley for doing a great piece on my shoulder.
